In order to help Natsu, Lucy summoned Taurus and Aries—only for it to backfire.
After absorbing Taurus, Jiemma, and Aries, along with the flas of Natsu's Lightning Fla Dragon, Franmalth actually managed to suppress Natsu and Lucy for a while.
The two of them and one cat were bound by his extended tentacles, while lightning coursed through the tendrils and pinned them down.
In that desperate mont, relying on the bond she shared with her Celestial Spirits, Lucy forcibly closed their gates without using their keys.
In order to keep himself from being dragged back to the Celestial Spirit World, Franmalth had no choice but to expel Taurus and Aries.
"Natsu, forced Gate Closure!"
"What?! This guy is a Celestial Spirit too?!" Franmalth hurriedly released the tentacles binding Natsu.
"Nice work, Lucy."
"???"
Franmalth's pupils shrank, and cold sweat broke out across his forehead.
"I got tricked!!! That was the woman's strategy!"
While he was still stunned, Natsu had already accelerated toward him. His heavy fist struck Franmalth's face like a cannonball.
"But I'm not worried! I'll just absorb again!"
"AAAAAHHH!"
Natsu had sohow found a massive square boulder. Holding it high above his head, he roared and hurled the entire rock forward.
"Sothing that guy can't absorb..."
"An object without a soul!" Lucy and Happy said in perfect sync.
One boulder after another ca crashing down.
"Wait! Wait—!"
Franmalth was buried beneath the pile of rubble, unable to move.
He reverted to his original form, missing most of his teeth, his tongue hanging out as he lay unconscious.
Blue light began to shine from Franmalth's body.
The glow then turned into small orbs of light that drifted out of him one after another.
Soon after, his body also dissolved into particles and vanished from the spot.
"The souls he absorbed... are all going back."
...
Mira and Seilah's battle had yet to reach a conclusion.
Seilah specialized in Macro, but it had no effect on Mira herself.
The problem was that Seilah seed to have an endless supply of Magic books hidden away sowhere.
No matter how many tis Mira attacked, those books kept getting in her way.
Forcing her way through the damage caused by the books, Mira landed another punch on Seilah's body.
"Take Over: Satan Soul: Sitri!"
The mont Mira took on Satan Soul: Sitri, she gained the upper hand.
After taking a Dark Spark, Seilah pulled back and frowned at Mira.
"Just what are you? Why does my Macro not work on you?"
Mira did not answer.
Seilah, however, continued speaking on her own.
"Then allow to tell you one particular trait of my Curse. Once I have controlled a human, I can control them again at any ti. So if I wanted to make those people from earlier kill themselves right now, I could do that too."
Mira's pupils contracted sharply.
Among those people from earlier were Elfman and Lisanna.
Lisanna had already been ordered by Mira to leave the area.
"I didn't expect my absorption to be useless against you either," Mira said.
Even during their battle, Mira had been trying to Take Over Seilah's abilities. It was just not as easy as she had imagined.
"I command myself... release the limiter."
A surge of Curse power rose into the sky and wrapped tightly around Seilah.
Within that power, Seilah's figure began to change.
"She gave an order to herself?" Mira frowned in confusion.
Seilah's clothing tore apart.
Her lower legs beca long and slender, her skin changed from white to dark brown, and most importantly, her pupils turned gold.
In her Etherious Form, Seilah's speed was far greater than before, and her close-combat ability had increased trendously.
Mira imdiately fell into a disadvantage.
Even so, after forcefully enduring Seilah's close-range attacks, Mira used her tail to catch her, seized an opening, and locked Seilah from behind with both arms.
Purple Magic wrapped around her entire body.
"Did I not tell you that Take Over has no effect on ?" Seilah said, disdainful of Mira's actions.
'Even if I can only absorb part of her, that's enough!'
Mira locked Seilah's arms with both hands, wrapped both legs around Seilah's waist, and used her tail to trap Seilah's right leg.
'I was almost taken over by her?!'
Sensing sothing wrong, Seilah struggled with all her strength and flung Mira away.
"Disappear!"
The frenzied Seilah ford an energy sphere in each hand, intending to finish Mira off.
"You said just now that anyone you've controlled before can be controlled again, right? So I gave an order."
Sitting weakly on the ground, Mira looked calmly at Seilah.
Her composure made Seilah panic, but Seilah still snapped,
"Useless! I am the only one who can give orders to myself!"
"I wasn't trying to give an order to you."
Mira's gaze shifted.
"Elfman."
In his Take Over: Beast Soul form, Elfman dropped from the sky and smashed his fist directly onto Seilah's head, driving her into the ground.
"Take Over!"
Mira stepped in front of Seilah and placed her hand against Seilah's forehead.
The absorption process was not exactly smooth. The biggest problem was that Seilah herself was still resisting.
However, the demon factor within Mira's body displayed trendous power, erasing Seilah's consciousness and allowing Mira to complete the Take Over.
She had gained a new form.
Seilah Soul Mirajane!
...
Erza had Requipped into Heaven's Wheel Armor and taken her battle with Kyouka into the air, but unexpectedly, Kyouka ran away midway through their fight.
And her target was obvious: Mard Geer, who sat upon his throne.
Because Raizel had already warned her about Mard Geer's strength, Erza did not intend to chase Kyouka too recklessly.
"Lord Mard Geer, the enemy's strength is far beyond what we imagined. The F.A.C.E. plan may no longer be possible. Ezel and Franmalth have been killed."
"Seilah as well," Mard Geer said with a faint smile, his tone calm and unmoved.
It was as though it was not his own subordinates who had died.
In truth, perhaps it really did not matter to him.
Mard Geer did not place much importance on the Nine Demon Gates.
His goal was to awaken E.N.D. and return to Zeref's side.
The Nine Demon Gates were ultimately expendable to him.
"This will not do. Our current Curse power is still insufficient to awaken our guild master. Unless Magic is erased, E.N.D. cannot be revived."
"But the F.A.C.E. plan to erase Magic has already..."
Kyouka understood the situation very clearly.
Raizel, the one who had cut down their demon fortress, had yet to act seriously.
The Nine Demon Gates had all been tied down by their opponents, and no one could spare the effort to deal with the final key, Jellal.
"How could this be... It seems we must invite our guild master out."
Kyouka lowered her head and requested permission from Mard Geer.
"Kyouka," Mard Geer said, one leg crossed over the other as he lightly swung his foot. "What are we?"
"Demons from the Books of Zeref. Etherious."
"And our purpose?"
"To revive our guild master, E.N.D., and return to Zeref's side."
"And humans?"
"They are beings worth less than ants."
"Go, then. Hurry and dispose of the humans. Revive our guild master, E.N.D."
After receiving a round of ntal conditioning from Mard Geer, Kyouka left.
Watching her depart, Mard Geer raised two fingers to his temple and spoke through telepathy.
"A Magic Guild... Fairy Tail, was it?"
At that mont, static suddenly appeared in the minds of everyone communicating through Warren's telepathy.
"Soone's interfering with Warren's telepathy!" Max shouted at once.
"Who the hell are you?!"
"Mard Geer Tartaros, the Underworld King. Though you need not rember the na, because none of you will live to see tomorrow's sun."
"You're still acting that arrogant after losing your demon fortress?"
Raizel raised an eyebrow, sowhat speechless.
This guy's sense of superiority really was sothing else.
In the end, he was nothing more than a failed creation that had lived long enough to reach its limit.
