Of course, even as one of Zeref's failed creations, the Underworld King, Mard Geer Tartaros, was still stronger than the latter three of the Four Gods of Ishgar.

In terms of strength, he was probably second only to God Serena, who had obtained eight Dragon Slayer Lacrima.

Raizel happened to find several books buried beneath the fragnts of Cube and stored them inside his cards.

Unfortunately, none of them belonged to the Nine Demon Gates.

Those were probably being kept by Mard Geer, or perhaps they would only turn back into books after the demons were defeated.

"Looks like I'll still have to play with the Underworld King after all."

A dragon head appeared on his chest.

His entire body was mainly white and gold, and in his right hand, he held the Omni Sword.

With one flap of the wings on his back, he accelerated into the sky.

Raizel encountered no obstruction before arriving in front of Mard Geer.

The Underworld King looked like a young man, not looking like his age at all.

There were no obvious demonic features on his body, and even when Raizel suddenly appeared before him, he remained completely composed, a faint smile on his lips as he held the book with E.N.D. written across its cover.

Raizel looked at the calm, confident Mard Geer and said, "Looks like you're not surprised I ca."

Mard Geer smiled faintly. "Of course not. The strongest mber of your guild is you."

When he said "strongest mber," there was still that relaxed, effortless tone in his voice, as if everything remained under his control.

At last, Mard Geer stood from his throne while holding the book.

Before this, the way he sat in that chair had always given Raizel the feeling that he was simply watching the battlefield like a spectator.

He was imitating Zeref.

As for whether the imitation was convincing...

Raizel, who had t the real Zeref, could only say that Mard Geer was nowhere close to him.

"Your Magic is rather strange," Mard Geer said, studying Raizel's Imperialdramon form with an appraising gaze.

"I have never seen such Magic in Ishgar. It resembles Take Over, yet it is not quite the sa."

"Never mind. I can take my ti studying it after I defeat you."

Mard Geer chuckled and took a few steps forward.

"Co on, then." Raizel raised his left hand and crooked a finger at him provocatively.

Mard Geer pointed two fingers into the air and cast his White Light Curse, creating a white sphere of light.

Raizel swung the Omni Sword and unleashed a sword wave.

The slash erased the white sphere outright, then swept toward Mard Geer as if tearing through space itself.

Mard Geer leapt high into the air and avoided the strike.

"I heard you like to claim you're evenly matched with the Celestial Spirit King," Raizel said. "But from what I'm seeing, you don't seem like much."

"Hmph. Thorn Curse."

Mard Geer ignored the mockery.

The ground around Raizel instantly sprouted hundreds of hard thorns. The thorns moved as if alive, surging toward him from every direction.

"Let this infinitely multiplying Thorn Curse destroy you."

There were many thorns, but they had no effect on Raizel.

The seemingly hard spikes shattered the mont they struck his Chro Digizoid armor.

"Destroyed, am I? Felt more like being scratched."

Mard Geer's pupils, calm until now, suddenly contracted.

As the demon closest to E.N.D., Mard Geer far surpassed the Nine Demon Gates in both the developnt and raw power of his Curses.

His Thorn Curse looked ordinary, but even when faced with the hardest tal, it should still be able to cause damage.

When he fought the summoned Celestial Spirit King before, it had even been able to restrain him.

Yet this ti...

It had no effect.

That defied his understanding.

There was no one near Raizel and Mard Geer now.

The two stared at each other, neither one rushing to attack.

Although Raizel could rely on the toughness of Chro Digizoid, and Mard Geer's thorns could not harm him, he would not underestimate the Underworld King.

Following Mard Geer's command, Kyouka once again went after Erza.

When Keyes launched a sneak attack on Gajeel, Ultear used Arc of Ti to erase the attack entirely.

Torafuzar's slash was blocked by a punch from Laxus.

Natsu devoured every last bit of fla Tempester created.

"Your Magic is seriously annoying," Natsu said, wiping the corner of his mouth.

"This is not Magic. It is a Curse," Tempester replied expressionlessly.

Tempester chanted a strange incantation, and the ground beneath Natsu's feet turned into mud.

Natsu's legs sank into the mire. No matter how he struggled, he could not pull himself free.

Ur used Ice-Make to create two arms, pulling Natsu out of the mud and throwing him into the sky.

Natsu used the montum to gather flas in both hands.

"Fire Dragon's Brilliant Fla!"

The flas in his hands rged, and he hurled the fireball straight down.

Tempester chanted again, and rain began to fall around him, directly extinguishing Natsu's fireball.

Raindrops and mist spread across the area.

Tempester broke through the fog, intending to ambush Natsu, but his scent was far too obvious.

Natsu blocked him.

"You're annoying just to look at."

"Sa to you! Stop standing there with that smug face!"

Gajeel and Torafuzar clashed fist to fist.

"Damn, that's hard... What the hell is this guy made of?" Gajeel sucked in a sharp breath as he clutched his hand.

Torafuzar looked at him and said, "Iron-attribute Magic? Rare, but your attacks are simple. Just like your face."

Gajeel flew into a rage and roared through gritted teeth, "Quit talking like you're better than , bastard! Your face isn't any damn better!"

"Iron Dragon's Club!"

Gajeel's arm transford into a tal club and extended toward Torafuzar.

Torafuzar rely reached out with his left palm and caught Iron Dragon's Club with ease, not moving an inch.

Then he gripped it tightly and swung, throwing Gajeel away.

"The weaker humans are, the louder they bark."

"You bark plenty yourself, you damn shark brat!"

Juvia was working together with Ultear against Keyes.

"Water Slicer!"

Juvia waved her hand, sending dozens of high-pressure water blades flying straight toward Keyes.

Unfortunately, every blade passed through Keyes's body without causing any damage.

Keyes let out several cold laughs, then transford into purple smoke and vanished from the spot.

"He's so troubleso..." Juvia frowned.

"Stories..." Keyes's voice echoed. "Seilah said the stories humans write are all terribly dull. But the stories of humans themselves are rather comical. Deeply fascinating, even."

"What is that supposed to an?" Juvia demanded.

"Silver... and the Ice-Make Mage from your guild..."

Gray and Silver were fighting one-on-one in the distance.

"Freeze!"

Pink and blue ice collided, then shattered apart.

Gray and Silver's father-son battle was still going on.

Of course, that was only because Silver was holding back by an ocean's worth.
