Chapter 1087: Slip away and find a young doctor
When he got to the main entrance of the ward, my goodness, the regular lock wasn’t enough; they’ve added a thick chain and a big black lock. A woman ca from behind, wanting to leave from this exit just as he did, pulling at the door only to find it locked with a big chain, she shouted anxiously, “How are we supposed to get out now?”
“Find a nurse.” Soone in the ward saw them and spoke, “Only they have the keys.”
“Aren’t they afraid of visitors coming?”
“They say if visitors co, they’ll call, so they’re not worried. They’ve posted a notice outside the main entrance.”
The woman went back to look for a nurse. Hu Zhenfan followed her to watch the situation unfold, seeing if he could slip out with her. As a police officer, it wouldn’t look good to argue over this with a nurse in person, as it would affect his image.
“Aren’t you the patient in the single room, Bed 70?” The nurse recognized the woman and said, “Why aren’t you wearing the patient’s gown? Where are you trying to run off to?”
“There’s been an accident at my company, and they need to handle it,” said the patient of Bed 70, “Just let out for a bit, I’ll be right back.”
“Didn’t Dr. Tao tell you when you were admitted? If you want to leave the hospital, you need to submit a request form and get the doctor’s approval. Given your condition, the doctor likely won’t consent. Weren’t you just feverish this morning?”
“I haven’t had a fever this afternoon; I should be fine now.”
“If you’re not feverish, then you should be preparing for surgery. If you don’t stay put in the hospital and sothing happens to you outside, do you want to miss the chance for surgery?” said the nurse, displeased, thinking about how it’s because of patients like this that their conditions keep recurring, making treatnt increasingly difficult, only to end up blaming the doctors for not curing their illness or accusing the nurses of not administering injections properly.
Bed 70’s patient, who was staying in a single room, had a temper, and banged the table in front of the nurse, “Are you unlocking it or not? You’re locking up here as if it’s a prison. Is this a prison or a hospital?”
“As I said, go and find the doctor. If the doctor agrees, I’ll open the door for you,” the nurse reiterated. Another escapee and she’d lose all her bonus; the injustice of it.
“Where is the doctor?” asked Bed 70’s patient.
“They’re in the ward resuscitating a patient. Otherwise, call Dr. Tao directly,” suggested the nurse.
Calling Tao Zhijie seed to be too daring for this patient; it’s apparently much easier to confront a less senior doctor. Don’t assu that people who usually bully the kind-hearted and fear the wicked will beco nicer after falling ill. Bad people remain just as bad after being sick. Bed 70’s patient headed to the doctor’s office, ntally preparing how to put pressure on the young doctor.
Hu Zhenfan watched this scene, touched his own forehead, and frowned: Why did he feel like this woman was like a mirror reflecting demons, suddenly revealing another grotesque face of his own?
Xie Wanying, needing to return to the doctor’s office for dical orders, left the ward and hurried over.
Seeing her, Bed 70’s patient jumped up, “Are you a doctor?”
“What do you need a doctor for?” Xie Wanying asked.
“I need to get out; they’ve locked the door, hurry up and make her open it.”
“You are the patient in Bed 70,” Xie Wanying recognized her face and said.
