Now reading: Chapter 1506: It Won’t Help to Come to Me from Famous Among Top Surgeons in the 90s, a Romance novel by Kindhearted Mama.

In addition to observing the drainage bottle, Xie Wanying’s eyes focused on the heart monitor placed at the head of the patient’s bed. The electrocardiogram displayed on the screen rose and fell, with occasional large fluctuations in heart rate, all indicating that the patient’s cardiac activity was not stable.

During the day, no infusion had started, and Xie Wanying had no way of knowing what dication her cousin was currently using. According to what her cousin’s wife said last night, the patient was receiving few dications now, including antibiotics.

The patient in bed 21 by the door saw soone and called out, "Doctor Chiang, have you eaten?"

"I have." The person answered in a restrained voice, their footsteps quick. The pace in the tertiary hospital had always been fast, and doctors walking like the wind were common.

Soon, a young male doctor in his twenties appeared in the ward.

Xie Wanying initially determined that the person was the attending doctor. His surna was Chiang, the Doctor Chiang ntioned repeatedly by her cousin’s wife for communicating about the patient’s condition. This indicated that Shang Siling could find and speak to only this attending doctor here, while no senior doctors had appeared.

It was generally difficult for ordinary people to find a senior doctor. Senior doctors only appeared during morning rounds, surgeries, and outpatient clinics. Otherwise, internal connections were needed to contact them.

It wasn’t that young doctors were not good, but many critical issues could not be decided by young doctors, who were destined to serve as ssengers for their superiors. If the patient’s condition reached a critical point, and the patient’s family anxiously sought an experienced professor to discuss it but couldn’t find one, it would be very frustrating. This was also one of the factors that triggered doctor-patient conflicts.

Why didn’t the senior doctor co forward? At this point, there was only one possibility left: the senior doctor admitted that there was nothing they could do. Like in other industries, they could only push their juniors forward to take the fall. It was, in fact, indirectly telling the patient’s family a harsh truth: that consulting them wouldn’t help.

The task of comforting the patient and family was left to the young doctors. If the family situation beca uncontrollable, then the senior doctors would step in.

The ti had co to test the young doctor’s comprehensive abilities.

The lowest level was to offer a few comforting words. The most unfortunate was to rely serve as a ssenger. Then there were so, like Student Xie and Pan Shihua, who proposed technical solutions to difficult problems, exceeding their teachers in courage.

How many young clinical doctors could achieve what Student Xie and others did? It wasn’t that there were none, just that the proportions were relatively low.

Because of the massive market demand for dical students, there was a mass-production nature to it. Like the high school entrance examination, the proportion of high scorers was low, while average scorers made up the majority.

Xie Wanying looked at Doctor Chiang in front of her, wondering what kind of doctor he would be. Whether he was easy to talk to would determine the next treatnt path for her cousin.

"Where are his family mbers?" Doctor Chiang asked.

"I’m his cousin. My cousin’s wife went out to buy breakfast. You can tell anything, and I’ll relay it to her," Xie Wanying approached him to identify herself.

Doctor Chiang was busy, and upon hearing this, he indicated to her to step out of the ward to talk, not waiting for Shang Siling to return.

Xie Wanying turned back first to reassure her cousin, "It’s okay, I’ll ask the doctor and then talk to you."

Seeing the doctor co in, Xiao Shugang’s eyes reflected an uncontrollable sense of panic, as if, as a patient, he had sensed so bad on.

Seeing her cousin apparently unable to hear her speak, Xie Wanying reached out to hold his hand, looking at him with a firm expression: It’s okay, I’m here.
