“The female patient in bed 38 is twenty years old and was just admitted at five o’clock today. She was given an injection of toclopramide upon arrival. It seems she is an acquaintance of our departnt’s doctor.”
Admitted just before the five o’clock shift change to secure a bed—it was clear they wanted to avoid the bed being taken by ergency patients later on. Because the departnt has a policy against saving beds for patients, fearing that they can’t accommodate urgent admissions at night.
“Was she brought in for a checkup?” Sun Yubo asked.
“That seems to be the case. She reported having gastroenteritis,” Xie Wanying nodded.
“If you have gastroenteritis, why not go to internal dicine for a gastroscopy or colonoscopy? What are you doing in our surgery departnt?” Sun Yubo frowned, finding it most frustrating when acquaintances did this sort of bed holding.
“Maybe they will arrange a consultation with internal dicine later on.”
