Chapter 59: The Three Musketeers 5
“Thank you, Teacher Xie!” Xie Wanying hastily expressed her gratitude as she accepted the chair.
The other two looked at this scene and began whispering to each other:
“He’s really acting so strange tonight, don’t you think?”
“He definitely has never moved a chair for a woman before.”
“Could he be running a fever?”
“If it’s a fever, it’s definitely possible that so region of his brain is overheating. He’s a neurosurgeon, so he should know better than us if sothing’s wrong with him.”
Cao Yong sat down and shot an annoyed glance at the two brothers who were gossiping like old won.
They pretended as if nothing had happened, started sterilizing their bowls with hot water, and urged the waiter to hurry up and stir-fry a few dishes to fill their bellies. anwhile, they asked the waiter, “What drinks do you have?”
Just as they asked and before the waiter could answer, soone else suddenly chid in.
“What would you like to drink?”
The other three were startled, only to see that the person who had spoken was Handso Cao.
After a mont of hesitation, Xie Wanying realized that she was the one being asked, but didn’t know how to respond imdiately. She was here to answer questions from Instructor Ren, not to eat or drink.
“Not sure what to drink, huh?” Cao Yong noticed the confusion on her face and turned to the waiter, “Tell , what do you have that’s good to drink?”
The waiter stood beside them and listed, “There’s Fanta, Pepsi, Coke, Wang Laoji, and also Want Want Milk.”
In the anti, Xie Wanying was still doubting whether she had misheard the question just now.
Seeing that she hadn’t moved, Zhu Huicang across from her couldn’t help but laugh, “Senior Cao is asking you what you want to drink, just honestly tell him. He’s never offered to buy a junior sister a drink before, so you should take the opportunity to take him to the cleaners.”
“That… probably wouldn’t be right,” Xie Wanying said earnestly, finding herself unable to take advantage of Senior Cao’s or any teacher’s wallet.
The other three n at the table were initially startled by her response, then, understanding her aning, they all laughed at once.
As Xie Wanying saw these three n laugh, they looked even more dashing, truly resembling The Three Musketeers in terms of style and appeal. Any woman or girl who saw them would be moved, and she found herself smiling along involuntarily.
Seeing her smile, the laughter of the three n ceased.
Cao Yong recalled that on the night of the ergency, he hadn’t been able to see clearly, but now, under the brighter lights, her oval face looked even more like a fairy that had descended from heaven.
Her cool features, independent deanor, plain apparel, the two long braids, and the green shoulder strap of her bag… She lacked any of the trendiness young people chased after, and yet, she resembled an innocent girl from a movie, blossoming like an unveiled epiphyllum, extrely beautiful.
“He’s gone silly again,” Zhu Huicang whispered, covering his mouth and blowing a secret to Ren Chongda’s ear.
Ren Chongda cleared his throat and said, “Let’s eat.”
As the food was served, Xie Wanying didn’t want to disrupt the teachers’ al and asked Instructor Ren, “Instructor Ren, the reason you wanted to talk to was—”
“It’s nothing.” Ren Chongda rembered his previous excuse but couldn’t find a reason and said, “I’ve also forgotten what I needed you for. I’ll tell you when I rember.”
After hearing this, Xie Wanying could excuse herself and leave.
They watched as her silhouette, like a drifting cloud, vanished at the entrance of the restaurant. Perhaps a passerby outside had caught a glimpse of her figure and whistled.
Both Ren Chongda and Zhu Huicang’s gazes locked onto Cao Yong’s face.
Cao Yong, who had just picked up his chopsticks to grab so food, seed oblivious to their questioning looks.
“They said you brought up her file, does that an you’ve known her for a while?” Ren Chongda asked him.
“He has known her from before?” Zhu Huicang asked in surprise, “But we’ve never seen her before, when did the two of them et?”
