The grain transport team from the Koer Kingdom has all arrived, but until now, this country still has not made an effective response to the invasion of Tukan. This was a great joy for the Kingdom of Darama, suffering in water and fire for many years, but it was not the sa for their neighbor, the Kingdom of Imbutu.
The monster army under Sorcerer King Zhenyi, upon collapsing, flowed into the Kingdom of Imbutu in organized formations, colluding with local monster forces, wreaking havoc on this ancient kingdom’s inland areas.
They have now lost control over most of the inland, and the royal family’s decrees can only be upheld in port cities protected by high walls.
These densely populated cities cannot be self-sufficient in food, needing support from the inland plains. Their famines are foreseeable, let alone being able to squeeze out extra grain to supply the Laiserman Kingdom.
"Empty words prove nothing." Gaven, experienced in dealing with these forthright and bold people, directly said, "Our fleet is not far from the dock; you can first board to inspect the grain before making a decision. However, the path is held by our brothers in the Brotherhood of Sword Spike, whether they will let you pass is an unknown."
"They must have the capability to stop us." Patralem unleashed a gigantic roar, unmatched to his small stature, "Fang Battle Squad, assemble!"
With a command, many Laiserman people surged out from various tents.
Most wore animal skin clothing or leather armor, and a very small number were like the Fang Chief, revealing bare chests. Without exception, they had magic tattoos on their chests and backs but with different designs, mostly featuring ferocious tigers and bears.
The weapons in their hands varied, mostly axes, long spears, and two-handed swords, with a small number of bows and arrows.
Their formation was relatively loose, ford in groups of three to five, led by Fang Captains with magic tattoos.
Several dozen fangs aggregated into the entire Fang Battle Squad, numbering slightly over a hundred, with mbers of varying ages.
So were young, without grown-out facial hair.
Others were elderly, with white hair.
There were even a dozen robust won.
Those truly in their pri adulthood made up less than a third.
These Laiserman people exemplified through real actions what it ant for everyone to be soldiers.
Except for those truly old, frail, sick, and disabled, everyone else responded to the call.
At the sa ti, four masked Laiserman witches silently appeared behind the first witch.
The witch moved her lips a few tis but made no sound.
The Fang Chief showed obvious signs of listening, and several minutes later, commanded loudly again, "Everyone, replace your weapons with sticks. If a conflict occurs, try to minimize slaughter."
"Fang Chief, isn’t that unnecessary? Once our Fearless ones enter berserk mode, even normally, it’s difficult to control their emotions and actions, let alone on the battlefield. How do we control casualties then?"
"Don’t tell us, we can’t even use berserk then?"
The Laiserman soldiers joked as they changed their weapons to sticks.
"Using berserk later must be cautious; unless it threatens our own people’s lives, it cannot be used." Fang Chief Patralem added.
"Fang Chief, why don’t you directly let us tie our hands?"
"You’re talking too much. If you nag so more, the Fang Chief really might do that."
"To deal with these city and armor-clad street mix-ups, do we even need our Fearless ones to go berserk?"
"Correct, to deal with these cowards, we don’t even need sticks; our fists alone can beat them senseless."
The Laiserman people laughed boldly, totally disregarding the Brotherhood of Sword Spike in the City of Usr.
Accompanied by the Laiserman Fang Battle Squad, Gaven and the others walked along the original path towards the port of Usr City.
Compared to formal city institutions, these street gangs have a common feature; they are very sensitive to information, acting with high efficiency because this is the basis of their survival.
The Brotherhood of Sword Spike is no exception. As soon as Gaven set foot in the Laiserman’s temporary camp, the news reached the ears of the Brotherhood’s high-ranking mbers.
"What? They went directly to contact those unrefined Laiserman barbarians?" The eldest of the Sword Spike trio, Duis, crushed the wine glass in his hand with a clatter, standing up furiously.
The opposite side wasn’t playing by normal rules.
Normally, they should send soone to try to contact them, mutually feel each other out, and attempt to resolve issues through negotiation.
