Now reading: Chapter 1929 - 909: Cesk’s Deep Pockets (Part 2) from Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God, a Fantasy novel by Eternal Night Knight.

Initially, the Elves created the City Defense Maze Lock mainly to guard against those flying creatures, especially the Giant Dragons.

The City Defense Maze Lock also has an ancient na—Dragon Defense Barrier, and even now, many City Defense Maze Locks still have this function, with Waterdeep City being the most representative.

Gaven has now expanded this concept, directly extending it to the national level.

His territory forms a band encircling the Koer Kingdom, and in many places, flying over Koer Kingdom is the shortest route.

If it were a day earlier, King Yasan would have agreed without a second thought, as even the Koer Kingdom couldn’t manage to place all the lands under its control, let alone the vast airspace.

However, after the Ard Ray Fish demonstrated a terrifying air-to-ground bombing capability, it beca inevitable.

Enhancing air force construction and airspace control defense will be an urgent matter.

It’s estimated that not only the Koer Kingdom will do this; any kingdom with so insight will do the sa.

King Yasan didn’t deliberate long before responding: "This involves the safety of a nation and needs to be handled with care. I cannot grant you permanent permission.

I can only give you temporary permission, but everything must have restrictions.

Your Ray Fish must report in advance when entering Koer airspace, and we will arrange personnel to escort it. Without permission, it must not approach the airspace over towns.

We will later provide you with more detailed regulations.

This rule will be reciprocal. Our Koer must also enjoy the sa airspace transit rights within your territory."

"Naturally." Gaven did not find King Yasan’s regulations cumberso; instead, he found them reasonable, as these are matters he also needs to consider.

Although the developnt of both sides’ air forces is still in its early stages,

it’s far better to set so rules early than to resolve issues after a dispute arises. After all, they are not just neighbors; their territories may overlap in the future, which would be even more delicate.

"It’s a pleasure to cooperate with the General as always, let’s proceed now without keeping the true masters of this city waiting." King Yasan concluded the brief eting.

Not far off, led by Lord Palado of Tavelan City, a group of Cesk rchants waited anxiously. Seeing King Yasan speaking with Gaven, they didn’t dare to approach initially.

These two are the holders of military power, and the life and death of Tavelan City lie within their thoughts.

Only upon seeing King Yasan approaching with Gaven did they rush up, praising in unison.

"Thank you, Your Majesty, for responding to our invitation and traveling far to support us in Cesk. You are the benefactor of all of Cesk."

"Thanks to Your Majesty and General Gaven, we preserved our city from those brutal Nomadic Tribes."

"Your Majesty is a model of benevolence. If the Allied Army has any needs, just state them, and we will do everything in our power to fulfill them."

The Cesk rchants were as enthusiastic as could be.

The crisis in Tavelan City was temporarily alleviated, but the war was far from over.

There are still over a hundred thousand mbers of the Undead Army outside Tavelan City.

The more than one hundred thousand Tukan People who retreated are likely to return to the Cesk Plains.

Even though the Tukan forces are less than a fifth of their peak strength, the Cesk Kingdom cannot defeat them alone and must rely on the Felen Allied Forces.

In dealing with these rchant politicians, King Yasan was evidently more adept than Gaven, never giving them a chance to gain the upper hand, offering ambiguous responses.

In retrospect, it seed like he committed to many things, yet also seed to agree to nothing at all.

This skill isn’t one that can be honed overnight; Gaven still has a long way to go to reach this level.

After a round of pointless complints and socializing, the conversation finally shifted to the main topic.

Lord Palado took the initiative to hand a scroll to King Yasan, saying: "We can only repay this significant favor by offering so of the most worldly ans, with wealth and resources collected together from all of Cesk."

This is where the Cesk rchants’ cleverness lies.

The Felen Allied Forces certainly cannot support the Cesk Kingdom for free; just transporting troops across the entire Sea of Fallen Stars to Cesk is a significant expense.

This cost certainly cannot be solely borne by the Felen Allied Forces, nor can it be entirely covered by plundering Tukan spoils.

The Cesk Kingdom must pay an adequate price, and it cannot be too small either.

Rather than waiting for the Felen Allied Forces to demand exorbitant prices, it’s better to proactively set a price, gaining so initiative, even if it’s limited, because the military power lies in others’ hands.

While handing the scroll over for King Yasan’s review, Lord Palado explained: "We have currently collected ten million Gold Coins and thirty million in materials, ready for Allied Forces use.

If the Tukan People are driven out of the Cesk Kingdom, we are willing to pay another seventy million Gold Coins to the Felen Allied Forces.

However, this seventy million Gold Coins is not a small sum. I hope Your Majesty will allow us to make installnt paynts, one million Gold Coins annually."

Indeed, Cesk rchants are wealthy,

offering a price of a hundred million right from the start. If converted to gold, that’s over fifteen hundred tons (one full-weight Gold Coin is fifteen grams).

On Earth, a modern superpower’s gold reserves are just about this amount.
