703: Chapter 502: Peripheral Reaction_3 703: Chapter 502: Peripheral Reaction_3 This was tantamount to tying up one of their hands and feet, and yet, even so, after the more than two thousand n brought by General Kopofiel entered the field, it was they who were hamred brutally.

This was the overbearing force of racial traits and professional levels.

They were the core of the entire flank wagon legion; whether it was the flank wagons or other soldiers, they were all vassals to them.

Many tactics revolved around them.

With this realization, the rcenaries suddenly beca much more obedient, quietly accepting reorganization and arrangent, and practicing new tactics.

Besides, there was another reason not to be ignored; Gaven, their employer, was as generous, openhanded, and financially robust as General Kopofiel had promised them along the way.

With enough potential to provide nurous promotion opportunities, as long as you were excellent enough, even if temporarily overlooked, it wouldn’t take long before you shone.

Everyone was rubbing their hands with eagerness, ready to show their ttle on the road to relocation and stand out among the crowd.

The grandeur that Gaven and his party had established in Darama was no small affair.

A huge convergence of manpower and material resources, the selection of soldiers to form legions.

This was the harbinger of major military operations.

All the warlord nobles sharing borders with Darama were alard, each of them moving troops towards Darama, with countless scouts spread out.

Among them, the reaction of Saladas City was the most intense.

A force of three thousand heavy cavalry, charging along Zasas Road, arrived at a small village nad Nisa in a re day’s ti and set up camp.

Compared to Saladas, this place was closer to Darama; just twenty-five kiloters further along Zasas Road would take them directly to the gates of Darama City.

Coincidentally, a month earlier, the Divine Root had burst out of Mir Forest less than two kiloters from here and rushed towards Darama.

Because it hadn’t been dealt with in ti, this terrifying trace still existed.

No more than an hour after the Saladas heavy cavalry arrived at this place, another heavy cavalry squad ca thundering from the direction of Darama.

This heavy cavalry, although only a sixth the size of Saladas’ heavy cavalry, its grandeur was not the least bit diminished, all in blood-red sealed armor and crimson war horses, with a crimson battle flag fluttering in the wind, upon it a knight chess piece.

This was Lady Strategy’s Holy Emblem, and in Thacel it now had a new aning, the banner of Darama City Lord Zalanda.

An equal number of Saladas heavy cavalry ca to et them in front of the Divine Root passage, encountering the Darama heavy cavalry.

Compared to the striking Darama heavy cavalry, the Saladas heavy cavalry was evidently more plain, black with silver, solemn and majestic yet with a hint of splendor.

Their banner displayed a horse’s face, with a forehead inlaid with a massive multidinsional gemstone.

If not unexpected, this should be the representation of the Omuran gemstone, which the family regarded as one of the two foundations of their household along with their war horses.

Two riders charged out from the Darama camp.

One rider was clad in blood-red armor wearing a golden mask, her flaming red hair billowing in the wind, embodying a perfect balance of beauty and valiance.

The other rider was the only variety among the Darama forces, a suit of shining silver armor reflected blinding light, rendering it impossible to directly gaze upon, mounted on a pure white horse without a single spot of another color.

They were none other than Zalanda and Gaven.

Similarly, two riders charged out from the Saladas heavy cavalry, their armor very similar to the others from Saladas, except trimd in gold.

The biggest difference lay in their helts, at the center of each was inlaid a fist-sized multidinsional gemstone that flickered with subtle yet powerful magic fluctuations, obviously not rely ornantal but possessing unique magical properties.

“The one on the left is called Conrad Saladas, the first in line to inherit the Saladas family title.

Unless sothing unexpected happens, he will beco the next head of the Saladas family.

He is now the commander of the first Saladas heavy cavalry legion.”

“The one on the right is his deputy commander, nad Matthew, the top expert in the first heavy cavalry legion, a Quasi-Legendary Warrior.”

“Their way of doing things strictly follows the traditions of the Saladas family—either they do not move at all, or once they do, they move with full force, aiming for a thunderous strike.”

Zalanda quickly briefed Gaven on the background of the two approaching them.

The situation on the other side was similar.

As soon as they faced off, Zalanda took the initiative to say, “Commander Conrad, bringing your first legion to our doorstep, what do you intend to do?

Are you taking advantage of the fact that Darama is unmanned?”

Conrad, fuming with rage, responded with a scoff, “Lord Zalanda, that’s the pot calling the kettle black.

We should be asking you, what are you intending to do?”

“We have been open from the start; we are organizing a migration to the Valley, with a departure set for three days from now,” explained Zalanda, offering an explanation of their actions in Darama.

“Migration?” Conrad sneered, “Does migration require forming a new legion?

Does it necessitate recruiting a hobgoblin army?”

The Saladas family, worthy of the title of uncrowned king of the eastern part of Thacel, missed nothing of Darama’s activities, including the briefly stationed Blood Claw Legion.

“Whether you believe it or not, that’s the truth.

We have no intention of starting a conflict,” Zalanda replied, spreading her hands in an expression that suggested there was nothing she could do if they didn’t believe her.

But she understood why the Saladas family was reacting so strongly.

Between them lay no natural defenses, and once forces were assembled, a great army could reach the other’s city gates within three days.

Were the situation reversed, she would also be worried by the commotion.

This concern wasn’t sothing that could be eased by a few words of explanation.

Conrad huffed again, clearly unable to accept this explanation.

The negotiations between the two parties ca to a deadlock right from the start.
