He too had jumped from the swift ship, executing a standard Jump Slash.

As his body reached its apex, the Red Copper Dragon Wings whooshed out from his back, arching grandly.

Though the No-Fly Zone enveloped the area, preventing the wings from furnishing Gaven with flight, they could provide gliding power to enhance his airti and stability.

They appeared for only a few seconds before snapping back with a swoosh.

His steel boots stomped towards the robust Sailor Leader, who was marshaling his slaver sailors.

This bald, bare-chested Sailor Leader had a ruddy face and breath reeking of booze, yet his hands were steady, without the slightest tremor.

Astonishingly, the weapon he wielded was not the cutlass common among pirates, but rather a Gno Alchemical Firearm.

As he watched Gaven approach, he not only showed no sign of panic, but his lips curled into an uncontrollable ferocious sneer.

He stepped back briskly, lifting the Gno Alchemical Firearm, “Let’s see how you handle the might of my brand-new equipnt.”

This weapon had beco a popular choice for lethal ranged combat in the Inner Sea over the past two years.

Its power, range, and convenience surpassed that of the conventional crossbow.

Even knightly plate armor was as vulnerable as paper mache against its specially crafted armor-piercing bullets.

Its sole flaw lay in its exorbitant price; both the firearm and its specially made alchemical bullets could only be produced by those crafty gnos.

The gunpowder bullets crafted by ordinary folks significantly lacked in potency.

Boom!

The report from this Gno Alchemical Firearm was no less deafening than the blast of Gaven’s Death Roar.

Clearly, the alchemical bullets used in the firearm adhered to the unique gnomish style—loaded with a plentiful charge, with little regard for other minor details.

This was evident from the Sailor Leader’s response.

Even as a tall man of one ter eighty, his hands shook uncontrollably, and he staggered back three or four steps, toppling a slaver sailor who had failed to dodge in ti.

At such close range, with his body mid-air, Gaven had no chance to dodge.

His only option was to activate his Psychic Ability, encasing himself in an inertial Armor.

A first-level superpower, it was quite similar to a Mage’s Mage Armor, both involving the conversion of elents into an inert state that would encircle the body, creating a region of inert elents to slow incoming attacks by a degree.

Since both had the sa nature, they could not be used simultaneously, only extending the armor’s duration.

Bang.

Gaven got a taste of being directly hit by a Death Roar.

Despite his body being twice as large, and eight tis heavier, he was still involuntarily stalled by the imnse impact.

With regard to pure physical lethality, the Gno Alchemical Firearm’s power was barely less than the Death Roar.

A shot to an ordinary person, even if undead, would create a gaping hole.

But unfortunately, it was not a Magic Weapon.

Although it drew power from elents, all the elental energy had been converted to kinetic energy and did not provide further magical enhancent to the bullet.

After being dampened by the inertial armor, its kinetic force alone could not overco the formidable Damage Reduction of the Combat Armor.

“Damn it, Fine Gold Armor.

His armor has powerful damage reduction; regular weapons can’t breach it.

Mages, mages, use your spells to kill him…”

The robust Sailor Leader, possessed of extraordinary insight, realized that his Gno Alchemical Firearm had failed to penetrate the armor and didn’t even draw his cutlass.

He turned and fled, knowing well that his ager blade stood even less chance.

But his desire to escape didn’t an Gaven would let him.

After scarcely two steps, the man’s head was driven straight into the ground.

Gaven returned fire with a Psychic Bullet.

This Level 2 superpower was practically useless in high-end battles against creatures like the Six-ard Serpent Demon.

Controlling such a foe more than twice amid hundreds of spells would be unlikely.

However, in lower-tier combat, especially when there was an overwhelming advantage, it could not be handier.

Aiming assured a hit each ti, and even if they weren’t stunned, the sudden excruciating pain in their heads caused their movents to be severely distorted.

At that mont, the Serpent Hilt Curved Sword found its mark.

The forked serpent tongue deprived the peculiar weapon of the piercing abilities of a regular sword, but it was extrely handy for slashing or chopping.

The double-edged serpent tongue could easily hook onto joints of the victims; a re pull and lunge were enough to dismber them with ease.

The fallen burly sailor faced just such a fate.

Gaven charged past him, not even bending at the waist, simply dragging the Serpent Hilt Curved Sword on the ground – the head was sheared off instantly.

Gaven’s shadow, like a ravenous beast, devoured both the sailor’s corpse and the Gno Alchemical Firearm in its grip.

He had no intention of letting other sailors pick up the deadly firearm to open fire again.

“He killed the Sailor Leader.”

“The Sailor Leader is dead, run for your lives.”

“Quick, quick, let’s band together and take him down.”

“The Sailor Leader’s weapon couldn’t break his defense; he’s wearing Magic Armor with formidable protective strength.”

The bold Sailor Leader’s death threw the surrounding slaver sailors into disarray; so bravely charged at Gaven, while others scattered in retreat.
