Ara’s POV

After I left the hospital, I went ho. When I arrived, I went in search of Cooper.

"Cooper," I knocked on the door. "Are you back? I need to see you," I called, still knocking.

Is he not back yet? I retrieved my phone from my bag and dialed his number; his phone began to ring behind . Turning, I saw him. He appeared weak.

"Cooper," I called, drawing closer to him. "Are you okay?" My eyes moved to his hand. "What’s that?" I asked, referring to his hand, which was wrapped in a towel.

He followed my gaze and looked at his hand too. "It’s nothing."

I moved closer and noticed how bloody the towel was. "What happened?" I carefully untied the towel, and a gasp left my lips.

"WHAT HAPPENED?"

"It’s nothing." He began to move toward the door. "Why are you here? Do you have sothing to tell ?" He asked, reaching for the door and unlocking it.

Yes, I ca here for a reason. I ca to speak to him about Ryan. No, I didn’t just co to speak; I ca to show my disapproval of his actions.

I want to ask him why he did what he did. Why did he beat Ryan and leave him in that state? The doctor had explained his condition to ; he told Ryan had a few broken bones and they had to do ergency surgery to save him.

He even ntioned the possibility of Ryan being temporarily paralyzed. I wasn’t happy when I heard that. I was going to speak to Cooper about it, but seeing him in this state made rethink my decision.

Maybe sothing happened between them; there might be more to the story. I’ll listen to Cooper’s side before passing judgnt.

"Did you co because you missed ?" He smirked.

"We’ll talk in your room." I entered his room, and he followed, closing the door behind him.

"It’s past midnight; why are you up? Did you go sowhere?"

"Yes, I went to the hospital," I answered, then went into his bathroom and brought out the first aid box.

"Let’s treat your wound," I offered.

"No, I need to bathe first; this can co later." He stood before his closet and began to undress, but undressing with one hand was difficult for him.

"I’ll help you," I offered, standing before him. I started to unbutton his shirt; after unbuttoning, I helped him out of it.

"My belt," he murmured.

"You want to do this?"

"Hmm," he breathed.

I reached for his belt with shaky hands and began to undo it; after successfully getting it off, I stepped away.

"Is that all?" He smirked.

"You can finish up; I’ll sit there." I walked to the sofa and sat down.

"You’ve seen naked many tis; why are you suddenly getting shy?" He laughed, but I didn’t respond; I kept my eyes away from him.

After taking off his clothes, he walked into the bathroom.

Can he prepare a bath by himself? Or will he use the shower? I should have prepared one for him. It didn’t occur to in ti. Will he be able to wash himself too? His left hand is useless because of the wound.

How did he get that wound? It seems pretty serious. Did Ryan hurt him, or is it sothing else? I want to find out.

To pass the ti, I brought out my phone and began to scroll through the net. Fifteen minutes later, he finished in the bathroom and put on his boxers.

"I’m done," he announced. "You can co over now," he said.

I dropped my phone on the table, grabbed the first aid box, and sat beside him on the bed.

"Let examine the wound first." I took his hand with both of mine, and after my examination, a bigger gasp left my lips.

"Were you stabbed with a knife?" I asked, my eyes eting his.

"Yes," he answered.

"Why? Who did this?" I turned his hand and examined the back. "Did the knife pierce through?"

"Yes," he answered again.

"How co you’re still alive?" I questioned.

He chuckled. "Why would I die?"

"I an... if the knife pierced through, then you need serious dical treatnt. How did you manage to stop the bleeding? You must have bled a lot."

"I did," he muttered, sounding unconcerned.

"Cooper, I can’t do this," I said, rising to my feet. "I need to take you to the hospital."

"No," he snatched his hand away. "I don’t need the hospital."

"Call a doctor then; you have a contact saved in your phone, right? If you don’t, I’ll go to Bryce and ask for help."

"No. No." He pulled to the bed. "No," he refused.

"Why? How did you stop the bleeding?"

"Alcohol."

"But it might get infected."

"It won’t."

"Why do you sound so certain?"

"It’ll heal; have you forgotten what we are? It’ll heal even without treatnt. It’ll completely heal in two or three days."

"No, it’ll take a week or two if you leave it untreated. Not days, but weeks, and you’ll also be in pain. You’ll be in constant pain; treating it is the best thing to do," I argued.

"Pain is nothing. I can handle it," he said, lying down on the bed.

"I’ll treat it; sit up." I pulled him into a sitting position. I’ve never treated a wound as serious as this, but I’ll apply a healing ointnt and hope it helps.

I got the healing ointnt from the first aid box; after disinfecting the surface, I applied the ointnt and then wrapped a bandage around it.

"Thank you, you’re as skilled as a nurse," he said, staring at his bandaged arm.

"I still think you should go to the hospital. What if you lose your hand? The knife must have touched a few important things in your hand."

"It didn’t; you don’t have to worry. That bastard did a good job."

"That bastard? Which bastard?" I looked at him.

"Oh no," he said, lying on the bed and closing his eyes again.

"You won’t tell who this bastard is? I’m sure he did this to you. Who is he?"

"You don’t know him."

"I believe I do," I argued.

"You don’t."

"I do; I spoke to Bryce about him earlier," I said.

His eyes snapped open, and he t my gaze. "You did?"

"Yes. Didn’t you hear about him from Bryce?" I asked.

He sat up. "You spoke to Bryce about him?"

"I did."

"What did you say to Bryce?"

"I... I... Does it matter?" I huffed. "You need to receive proper treatnt," I groaned.

"It matters, it does. Tell what you told Bryce."

"It’s a long story; have you had dinner?"

"No, I haven’t, but I won’t. It’s too late for that."

"Supper then. Let’s have supper," I proposed.

"Supper? No, I have to wake up early; if I eat, the food will prevent that."

"But I’m hungry; I didn’t eat dinner because of that urgent call."

"The call from the hospital?" he asked.

"Yes."

"Tell about that too."

"No, I won’t; I can’t tell you about it."

"Why?" He groaned.

"You’re also refusing to explain this to ," I said, referring to his hand.

"I’ll tell you about this, but you need to speak first. What did you discuss with Bryce today?"

"You’ll tell after I say it?"

"I will."

"Okay, it’s about a guy at school," I started.

He leaned closer. "What about him?"

"He... He’s a troublemaker, so I asked for him to be expelled."

"And? Was he expelled?"

"I don’t know; Bryce said he would handle it. He might have done that," I murmured.

He smiled. "Good, good girl." He brought his hand to my hair and ran his fingers through it, appearing happy.

"Why do you look happy?"

"You won’t understand," he chuckled.

"Make understand then," I pouted.

He brought his hand to my face, cupped my cheeks, and stared at for a minute, then pulled closer to him. "You did a good job; I don’t have to worry again. You did a great job," he praised .

What is he talking about? I can’t understand him.

I pulled out of the hug. "I don’t understand you," I grumbled.

"Give a minute; I’ll explain everything to you, but I need to speak to Bryce first. I’ll be back." He stood up.

"What?"

"Stay here, do not leave, wait for ." He walked to the door, opened it, and left.

Why does he want to see Bryce? I’m perplexed.

My eyes wandered around the room and settled on the first aid box. I should return this to its place. I stood up, took the box, and returned it to the bathroom. While leaving, my eyes wandered to the floor, and I saw it. The bloody floor.

Moon goddess! He bled a lot. He has lost a ton of blood; what if he gets dizzy and passes out on the way?

No, I’ll go to him. After making up my mind, I left the room and went in search of him. I spotted him and Bryce standing in front of Bryce’s door.

Oh, he is still on his feet. Good. I walked towards them. I was about to call their attention but paused when I heard sothing—sothing unexpected.

"You an Ryan will remain by her side?" Cooper asked, sounding annoyed.

"Yes," ca Bryce’s reply.

"But you said she repeated it thrice."

"He didn’t allow her to finish."

"Does it matter? What matters is that she wants him gone. Ask her to complete it. No, no, ask her to reject him. Rejection is the best solution. Let’s make her reject Ryan," he said.
