After he got my phone, I texted the brothers. I tagged my ssage as urgent so they would know how important it was. They canceled all of their appointnts and arrived at Parker’s office within twenty minutes.
"Can you ask Parker to co in? He can stop hiding now; I have sothing to say."
"Sure," Cooper said, then left and returned with Parker.
"Tell them what this is," I said, settling my gaze on Parker. But Parker stayed quiet.
"I saw Doc Eric leaving when I ca in. Did she fall sick? She doesn’t look okay," Gavin observed, sitting directly opposite .
"Parker, can you tell us what this is about? We don’t have the whole day. How did she get to your office?" Bryce asked from behind Parker’s desk.
Cooper and Parker stood closer to the door.
Parker hesitated for a minute, then cleared his throat. "Yes, she had a seizure a while ago; this is the second ti it’s happened," he revealed.
"What? What caused it?" Cooper asked, looking surprised. The others also appeared shocked by the information.
"Emotional distress. Overwhelming emotions led her brain cells to misfire, causing the seizures," Parker answered.
"How co we’ve never heard of this before?" Gavin asked, turning his attention to Parker. "Were you hiding this from us?"
"Wait, when exactly did this start?" Cooper asked.
"It happened months ago, after she left the house and we brought her ho."
"Were you hiding this from us? Why? I don’t see a reason why you should hide it," Gavin said, sounding annoyed.
"Because it happened because of . I just couldn’t bring myself to tell you the truth."
Gavin exhaled, disappointed.
"So why did it happen this ti? What caused it?" Bryce asked.
"Eric suspects the sa cause," Parker replied.
"Oh shit," Cooper groaned.
"Wait, what exactly did you do that got her to that condition? You must have really angered her," Gavin said again, exhaling as he spoke.
"I have sothing to say." I cleared my throat and spoke up again. "And I must say it."
"Speak, you’re free to talk."
"Parker hid it the first ti it happened; he asked not to say anything to you guys, and I easily agreed because I was equally confused. It had never happened to before. That was my first ti, so I didn’t know how to feel about it. And to be honest, I was quite embarrassed and ashad. I couldn’t even tell Ruby about it. My parents also don’t know that sothing like that happened to ."
"But I couldn’t hide it this ti; I couldn’t bring myself to do that." I shifted my attention to Parker again.
"You know what you said to the first ti it happened. You told you’d make sure it never happened again. You promised a lot of things, but you forgot those promises and also forgot that you made them."
"I’m risking my health by staying with you guys; that’s the truth." I paused to look at Parker and noticed him staring at his feet. I shifted my gaze to the others and saw that they were paying attention to .
"I can’t continue like this. I think it’s best I move out of the house, OR you all move out. All four of you. I don’t want to stay in the sa space as you again, at least until my exams end. I just want to have peace in the anti; I know I’m not asking for too much. I don’t want to go through this again. Please. I know you don’t listen to a word I say, but can you listen to this once?"
"Don’t text . Don’t call. Don’t even check up on . I want you all to keep your distance. Can you do that? I’m afraid sothing worse will happen if I don’t take precautions."
"And Parker," I turned to him again, "I don’t think... I should... I don’t think we should keep our matebond. I wish to break it."
"What?!" Parker snapped his attention to ; his eyes went wide, and his face turned white from shock.
I bit my bottom lip hard as I tried to control my emotions, then repeated, "I believe we should end it."
"What?" Cooper also gasped.
"No, you can’t do that," Gavin whispered, shaking his head.
"Why can’t I do it?" I snapped at Gavin.
"Because you’ll be the one affected. You might... You might go into shock if that happens."
"I don’t care," I said, exhaling.
Gavin moved closer to and took my right hand, but I pulled it away. He took my hand again. He opened his mouth to speak, but Bryce spoke first.
"Let’s do it," Bryce said. "We’ll move out of the house just like she wants, and we’ll give her all the ti and space she needs," he agreed.
No one objected; they fell silent again.
He turned to Parker. "et outside; we need to talk." He stood up and left the office. Parker hesitated for a minute, then followed him.
Cooper also left, leaving just Gavin and .
Gavin didn’t let go of my hand; he kept holding it. "My brothers and I can be difficult," he murmured. "We were wrong, and you are right. We’ll give you the ti and space you need, and hopefully, we’ll reunite as better versions of ourselves. I’m sorry this happened to you. I’m terribly sorry, Ara," he apologized, but I didn’t say anything and kept my gaze down.
"Let drive you ho." He stood up and helped to my feet. "Don’t worry, you won’t see us starting tomorrow."
Gavin drove ho and helped to my room.
"Did sothing happen? Is she okay?" Nanny Samantha asked him.
"No, Doc Eric will co in to check up on her regularly. Take care of her."
"Are you going sowhere, sir?"
"We’ll be around, but we won’t co to the house. Make sure to look after her."
"Yes, Alpha."
Gavin left, and Samantha ca to . "Are you okay, my dear?" she asked, and I shook my head.
"Ruby... Is she here?"
"No, she left a while ago."
"Can you get water, please? I’m thirsty."
"Yes, give a minute."
She walked to the jug on the table, grabbed a cup, filled it with water, and offered it to . I accepted and drank.
"Did sothing happen with the brothers? Why do you look so down?"
"I was a little too angry earlier; I’m a bit calr now. As for the brothers, you won’t see them again. That is, at least for the ti being. Hopefully," I told her.
