Chale Cheney was wearing an adorably cute sweater, tugging at the bunny ears on it.
“Baby is only three years old.”
Jasmine Yale smiled and rubbed his head, “Little Devil.”
A little devil who could deceive.
“Jasy, when will you knit another sweater? The ones before aren’t nice to wear anymore,” Chale Cheney complained.
“This ti Jasy has brought you a gift.”
Jasmine opened her backpack, inside, besides her own luggage, it was stuffed full of gifts.
There were dolls and snacks she made herself, and a beautiful piece of jade.
Her funds were limited, but this ti, she really put her heart into buying gifts for Chale.
Chale was visibly delighted. Pointing at the jade, he said, “Want to wear.”
“Okay, let’s put it on.” Jasmine patiently fastened it around his neck, lowering her head to sll the faint scent of milk on the little fellow, “Do you like it? This will keep you safe and sound.”
“Like it, I like everything Jasy gives.”
“You’re just sweet-talking.”
Jasmine fastened it properly; a small piece of jade fit perfectly.
Although it might not be as valuable as the things his father bought, it was still her sincere gesture.
“Jasy, baby’s birthday is coming soon, can you knit a sweater for baby?”
“Is it your birthday soon?” Jasmine had yet to spend a birthday with him.
“Yes, yes, my birthday’s coming.”
“How long until your birthday? Jasy will see if she can knit a sweater for you. What color would you like?”
“White! With a little fox on it!”
Jasmine laughed, “Are you missing your Little Ali?”
“Mm, miss him,” Chale nodded, “Really hope dad can also co be with baby on his birthday.”
“You haven’t told Jasy, how long until your birthday?”
Chale looped his arms around her neck and whispered a date into her ear.
After saying it, he smiled happily.
Would Jasy knit him a sweater?
Chale rested his chin on his hands, his face full of expectation.
In an instant, Jasmine’s expression froze, her face turned pale, and her eyes, watery and broken like cracked ice.

Chale looped his arms around Jasmine’s neck, “Jasy, Jasy, why aren’t you talking?”
Emotions swirled in Jasmine’s eyes, it wasn’t that she wouldn’t speak, she just… suddenly couldn’t utter a word.
“Jasy…” Chale called out to her plaintively again.
“Oh, it’s nothing. When it’s your birthday, Jasy will have a gift for you.”
