Chapter 1385: Chapter 1385: Am I Not Just Your Kept Lover
As she spoke, her phone vibrated twice. Jasmine Yale saw that it was a ssage from Ann Nolan with pictures of Little Candy.
There were three photos in total.
Jasmine Yale waved the photos in front of Sylvan Cheney’s eyes: “Look, cute, isn’t it?”
On Sylvan Cheney’s stern face, there wasn’t much expression, only a slight frown and his lips pursed tightly.
“Isn’t that how all kids are?”
At least, that’s how Chale had been at that age.
Chale Cheney was premature and looked even smaller than the child in the photo.
“Take a closer look, you don’t think she’s cute?” Jasmine persisted.
“I don’t see anything special.”
“Are all n like this?” Jasmine was discontented, “You seem to really dislike kids.”
“Alright, let’s have dinner, I need to head out later,” said Sylvan.
“Going out at night? When will you be back?”
“I’m not sure, you go to sleep first.”
“Is it a business engagent?” Jasmine looked at him.
Sylvan pulled out a chair, rolling up his sleeves to his elbows: “Sothing like that.”
Jasmine never asked too much about Sylvan’s business; what he said went.
She knew she trusted him, and he wasn’t the type to fool around.
“What’s wrong, afraid I’m going out for a secret rendezvous? Hmm?” Sylvan narrowed his eyes at her, his clearly defined face marked by strong lines.
“You’re not married, you can do whatever you want. Aren’t we also in a secret rendezvous? You refuse to take responsibility for ; am I not just a kept mistress, hidden away in luxury!” Jasmine pulled out a chair, sitting next to him.
“I say one thing, and you have to retort with ten. You’ve beco quite sothing.”
“If I had beco sothing, that would be great. If I had even a bit of success, I wouldn’t have fallen so low as to beco soone’s mistress.” Jasmine picked up her chopsticks and tasted a bite of the dry pot potatoes.
Sylvan knew she was just complaining and wasn’t really upset.

Outside the window, the night had already fallen, and lights at the Cheney Residence lit up one after another.
In the light, the branches swayed, casting simplistic shadows like a landscape painting.
After having dinner with Jasmine, Sylvan put his black coat back on and walked towards the garage.
Jasmine saw him to the door, not saying a word, but her gaze lingered on his Rolls-Royce until it was out of sight.
Only then did she slowly head back inside.
Sylvan drove towards the Heavenly Blessing Hotel.
On the way, Lilac Serval called.
“Mr. Cheney, I’m with Mr. Rowan here, I’ve seen him.”
“I’ll be there shortly.”
“Okay.”
Sylvan pressed down on the accelerator, his car speeding through the night like a swift.
In the darkness, his austere figure took on an added sense of dignity and icy charm, his face calm, his gaze sharp as a hawk’s.
He received intel that Joan Harry was taken away by Jesse Rowan of the Rowan Family.

Sylvan’s eyes slightly narrowed, his piercing gaze fixed on the road ahead.
The car sped through the cold wind.
Gradually, the surroundings beca brighter, and the Rolls Royce headed downtown, moving straight towards its destination.
