“What’s there to not dare? If you want to crawl into my bed, I’ll grant you that wish.”
“Mr. Rowan… p-please don’t joke like this with .” The maid was so frightened she could barely speak. Jesse Rowan was utterly unattainable for soone like her, a re servant.
Jesse Rowan seed to be in high spirits and laughed, “What’s your na?”
“Mr. Rowan… I… my na is Sweetie.”
“Sweetie? Oh, new here? Such a sweet na, such a sweet voice… doesn’t that an you must be both sweet and pretty?”

Her clothes… she’s barely dressed, sitting disheveled on the sofa, not eating or drinking, just sitting there all day. Mr. Rowan, it’s the first ti she’s been like this… We don’t even dare to talk to her…”
“Since when did my business beco any of yours?”
“Y-yes, of course.”
With a sharp “slam,” Jesse Rowan cut off the call and tossed his phone aside.
The rain that had been falling all day showed no signs of stopping.
Within the entangling rain, there was a quiet glow everywhere, stretching endlessly into the distance.
Jesse Rowan took a large gulp of alcohol and humd along to the music playing in the background.
He was drinking with a group of his usual playboy friends, having the ti of his life. And yet, that audacious maid’s phone call had disrupted his mood.
For so inexplicable reason, he couldn’t even enjoy the drink anymore.
Left with no alternative, he stood up and tugged at his collar, saying, “I’m done drinking for today. I’ll catch up with you all so other ti. Put tonight’s bill on my tab.”
“Oh, Mr. Rowan, calling it quits already? It’s barely evening. Where are you off to—off to rent a hotel room sowhere?”
“No hotels tonight. How about so car sex?” Jesse Rowan burst into laughter.
“Classic Mr. Rowan! Always switching it up. You’ll have to teach us next ti.”
“Sure. Do you know which road in Landon delivers the most excitent for that kind of thing?” Jesse Rowan squinted slightly, lowered his voice, and cast a glance around the room at everyone.
“Oh? Mr. Rowan, you’ve even tried that? How many cars has it taken? Co on, tell us which road! Enlighten your brothers here.”
“Want to know? Bribe .”
“What could Mr. Rowan possibly lack?” The group burst into laughter.
“Who’s willing to do a favor? It’s not hard, really.” A cold glint flickered in Jesse Rowan’s eyes, fleeting and then gone, replaced by his usual composure.
“Why the formalities with us, Mr. Rowan? Say the word and we’ll handle it,” one of the n shouted louder than the rest.
Jesse Rowan leaned in close and whispered sothing, just low enough for the two of them to hear, “You know Yacob Harry, right? He’s in the hospital. Find soone to teach him a lesson. Don’t leave any wounds, don’t kill him, and don’t cripple him—just rough him up. The thod is up to you.”
“Mr. Rowan, did CEO Harry cross you?”
“Handle this for , and I’ll tell you the most thrilling road for that… experience you’re so curious about.”
“Deal!”
Jesse Rowan looked at the room full of grinning, carefree playboys and curled his lips into a smile before leaving the bar.
The rain continued to pour relentlessly.
Koi Garden.
Under the glow of streetlights, raindrops splattered, creating ripple after ripple in the puddles on the ground.
The surroundings were utterly silent, not a sound could be heard.
Koi Garden stood as extravagant and magnificent as ever, a haven of opulence.
In the living room, a frail figure was curled up on the sofa, hugging her knees, motionless. Her head… buried in her knees, her hair in disarray.
The woman neither cried nor scread. She simply sat there silently, like a lifeless sculpture.
