The heavy gaze fell upon the two n beside Frederick Owen.
One, she recognized.
The other, she did not recognize.
Jasmine Yale’s eyes were still filled with endless astonishnt; she furrowed her brows.
The two n were also staring at her, their expressions similar to hers, very surprised.
Jasmine Yale looked at them again, suppressing the surging waves in her chest: "Sit down."
The younger of the two n was Chris Fern.
The other one, a bit older, if she guessed correctly, was her biological father.
This middle-aged man’s eyebrows and eyes were very similar to Chris Fern’s, certain features like the bridge of his nose, his eyes... they even seed carved from the sa mold.
The year before, she had always wanted to know who her father was. She even thought that if she t her father, she’d be thrilled because she longed for family so much.
But now, for so reason, her heart didn’t hit the expected excitent.
She wondered if she had lost the ability to feel her heartbeat.
She looked at Chris Fern and Hadley Xinez, and her heart was incomparably calm.
However, for so reason, Chris Fern should have recognized her, but at this mont when he saw her, he showed a look as if he didn’t know her.
Frederick Owen did not sit down; he spoke first: "Miss Yale, I’ve co abruptly, without aning, without giving notice. Mr. Mcintosh was supposed to be here, but Mr. Mcintosh is too busy and couldn’t make ti to travel abroad."
"It’s alright," Jasmine Yale smiled, "you sit."
Frederick Owen noticed Jasmine Yale looked much better than when he first saw her.
He still rembered the first ti he saw Jasmine Yale, covered in blood.
That ti, both he and Mr. Mcintosh were frightened.
"Miss Yale, let introduce you; this is Chris Fern, Doctor Fern." Frederick Owen was unaware of their past conflicts and history. He did as Mr. Mcintosh instructed him, "This is Luka Xadrian, a famous jewelry designer from UT."
Jasmine Yale smiled serenely, her face displaying a gentle smile: "Hello, I’m Jasmine Yale."
Suddenly, she didn’t know what to say.
There was no anticipated warmth, nor expected excitent.
Only tranquility.
She had fantasized countless tis that she’d surely be thrilled when she t her father and brother.
Until now, until this mont, she realized... twenty years or more, even with blood ties, the feelings weren’t as intense.
Blood is just a line, and only with daily companionship can there be the most sincere emotions.
"Miss Yale, so things... I won’t say more, you know it all." Frederick Owen cleared his throat gently, "I’ve told Doctor Fern and Designer Xadrian about your situation. Do you need so private space to talk?"
The atmosphere was once sowhat awkward.
Jasmine Yale nodded.
Frederick Owen signaled Butler Santana, whispering, "Butler Santana, I see the scenery nearby is quite nice, take out for a walk?"
"Alright, alright."
Frederick Owen and Butler Santana left the house.
In the living room, only Jasmine Yale and her father, brother remained.
She looked at Luka Xadrian for a long ti, a very long ti.
Probably due to the ravages of ti, he had changed a lot compared to the young man in the black-and-white photo.
But from his brows and outline, it could still be seen that he was very pleasing to the eye.
He was the one her mother kept in her heart and mind.
"Jasmine." Luka Xadrian’s emotions had been fluctuating, his eyes shining brightly.
Over these years, his ntal illness had been recurring intermittently, but he had been slowly recovering through treatnt.
