The next day was Saturday, also Children’s Day.
Yukon Carbon had initially planned to accompany her to read at the library, but he suddenly received a task from the bank and had to rush back to finish a report, so he left first.
“I’ll co pick you up for lunch.” Yukon said as he bid her goodbye.
“Okay.” Jasmine Yale held her book and waved at him.
The weather was particularly nice, and Jasmine chose a seat by the window.
The library was very quiet, not a sound to be heard. She turned on her tablet and put on her headphones.
Ever since knowing she was pregnant, Jasmine had felt much more at ease and settled, able to focus on tasks.
It was the baby in her belly that gave her the courage to continue living…
Jasmine was very attentive when doing her tasks, ticulous, writing and drawing on the draft paper with her pen, extrely patient.

Jasmine softly touched her belly, sat down, and continued to read.
She hadn’t expected Butler Santana to call her.
Jasmine took her phone and went to the hallway.
“Butler Santana.” She lowered her voice, “I’m in the library.”
“Miss Yale, you should co back, there’s sothing important.”
“Is there news about Sylvan?” Jasmine’s eyes glistened with anticipation, but her heart was in a twist.
Two months.
Whole two months.
“No… it has nothing to do with Mr. Cheney. You’ll find out once you return, it’s hard to explain over the phone.”
Jasmine was stunned for a mont, nodded: “I’ll co ho now.”
Jasmine knew Butler Santana was a reliable person; if it weren’t urgent, he wouldn’t call so easily.
Hurriedly packing her books, she hailed a taxi back.
Arriving at her house, she unlocked it with the key.
The door opened.
Jasmine was stunned once more.
In the big living room, three n sat on the sofa, with Butler Santana serving them tea.
When she could clearly see the n’s faces, Jasmine’s eyes widened in disbelief, an incredible light in her eyes.
Her heart thumped wildly, she hadn’t felt like this for quite so ti.
Indescribable emotions spread through her heart.
Surprise, shock, confusion, disbelief.
One of Jasmine’s hands was still on the door fra, and she forgot to pull the key out from the lock.
Among the three n, she recognized two.
“Miss Yale, you’re back.” Butler Santana quickly ca over to help her close the door, “Co in, there’s a draft at the door, it’s cold.”
The atmosphere in the living room beca sowhat subtle for a mont, and the three n simultaneously looked at her, with different expressions.
Steam rose from the tea on the table, and the air was filled with indescribable and elusive elents.
Silence perated the entire house.
Frederick Owen was the first to stand up, nodded toward Jasmine, and smiled: “Miss Yale, I am Frederick Owen.”
Of course, Jasmine recognized him. She had just t him recently, Little Fann, Charles Mcintosh’s assistant.
But, Jasmine’s gaze only lingered on Frederick Owen for a few seconds before moving away.
