"He doesn’t like this, you should bring him matcha mille-feuille, he only eats it if it’s sliced." Jasmine Yale picked up a knife and fork.
Kade Yuvan was taken aback for a mont.
Jasmine Yale’s hand paused, suddenly realizing she had misspoken.
She often spoke without thinking, words just ca out instinctively.
Jasmine quickly changed the subject, sliced the mille-feuille, and placed it in a paper bag: "Take it all with you, I can’t eat this much by myself."
"You made so much, you must have gotten up early this morning?"
"I wasn’t awake yet, but the baby was, even before dawn. I couldn’t sleep anymore, so I got up and made so snacks."
"Do you live alone?"
"There’s also a nanny."
No matter what Kade asked, Jasmine responded openly.
There wasn’t much to hide, and she trusted Kade not to gossip unnecessarily.
Jasmine lowered her head and sliced a piece of blueberry toast: "Have so with , do you have a eting later?"
"Yes, a bidding eting."
"That’s quite busy, but you still have to eat sotis. Skipping als isn’t good for you."
Kade laughed: "No worries, we’re still young. Haven’t you seen our CEO? He gets so absorbed in etings that he often skips two als in a row, then goes out in the evening to entertain clients and drink. In comparison to CEO Cheney, I’m nothing special, even though he can be a bit strict, but he’s very responsible towards the company."
"Oh." Jasmine continued eating.
"Haha." Kade laughed and said, "You’re still annoyed with him, huh? He’s quite strict with the staff but not soone who ddles. You were just unlucky to run into him today. But don’t worry, CEO Cheney doesn’t visit the office often due to frequent business trips. When you see him next, it might be years down the line, maybe by then, you’ve even changed jobs."
Jasmine paused for a mont, the phrase, "years down the line."
This phrase always carried a sense of nostalgia.
"Or maybe next ti I get caught doing sothing wrong, I’ll be fired." Jasmine said lightly.
"No way, just be more careful next ti. It’s not that you can’t make calls, it’s just that you shouldn’t be caught. For example, if you were calling from the ladies’ room, would our CEO have noticed? Of course not."
"..." Jasmine listened and found it to be reasonable.
She finished all the blueberry toast and felt full.
She really made a lot of snacks this morning, not able to finish them alone, so she gave them to Kade.
Kade seed to enjoy them a lot.
"You’ve been here for a while now, have you gotten used to the job?" Kade asked.
"I have, it’s been great."
"Alright, keep it up, there’s potential for growth."
"Thank you."
"No, I should thank you." Kade waved the bag, "Thanks, I have to go upstairs to set up the eting room, see you next ti."
Jasmine smiled and watched him leave.
She knew Kade was quite busy too, frequently traveling for work, not knowing when they’d et next.
As Kade reached the door, he turned back: "Oh, and you shouldn’t bring food into the office; if you get caught again, it’ll be another note on your record."
Saying that, Kade left like the wind.
He didn’t head to the eting room first, but to the CEO’s office.
"Knock knock"—
"Co in." Sylvan Cheney didn’t lift his head, marking on a docunt with a pen.
"CEO Cheney, have you had lunch yet? I brought so snacks." Kade raised his eyebrows and placed Jasmine Yale’s creations on Sylvan Cheney’s desk.
"I don’t like these."
