Chapter 1949: Chapter 1949: Good Night, President

“Heh.” Sylvan Cheney seed not to believe it, his light laugh tinged with sarcasm.

“Mr. Cheney.” Jasmine Yale changed the topic, “Is your health better? Have you been to the hospital for follow-up recently?”

“Didn’t have ti.”

“Take care of yourself, youth isn’t sothing to squander, and don’t treat the doctor’s advice like it’s just noise.”

“Do you know how annoying you are? Hmm? All this talk is just about mundane things.” Sylvan Cheney’s tone was displeased.

Jasmine Yale paused: “…”

Really, absurd.

Such a temper.

If not talking about these things, what else is there to say?

After a few more steps, Jasmine Yale stopped, her face not very happy: “Mr. Cheney, the tro entrance is just ahead, I can go by myself, no need to escort further.”

“Why didn’t you accept the red envelope I sent you?” Sylvan Cheney suddenly asked, looking down at her not so happy face.

If she’s unhappy, does that an he’s happy?

“I don’t want it.” Jasmine Yale bluntly refused.

Sylvan Cheney was obviously annoyed again; he restrained his emotions, his eyes showing a crimson anger.

“Mr. Cheney, I’m going ho now, you should go back too. Don’t drive after drinking, and try to sleep early.” After saying that, Jasmine Yale walked towards the tro entrance ahead of him.

The tro was about to close.

She went inside, and Sylvan Cheney did not follow.

Her efforts are without seeking any reward, naturally, she doesn’t want his red envelope.

She knows he’s always generous with money, but she doesn’t want to take advantage of it, nor does she want him to think she’s a woman who can be bought with money.

Once this rule is broken, there is no boundary.

The tro roared loudly, soon, an empty train approached, Jasmine Yale got on and sent a ssage to Sylvan Cheney —

Jasmine Yale: Goodnight, Mr. Cheney.

Just as she expected, he didn’t reply.

The train sped forward, the road ahead long and unknown.

Jasmine Yale leaned her head, silently dozing off.

Sumr, like a dream.

Neither flower nor fog.

The events of that night felt like a fleeting mont, afterwards just like a dream, and no one ntioned it again.

Jasmine Yale almost forgot.

But she didn’t know why Charles Mcintosh hadn’t returned her calls, when she called again, there was only the chanical voice: “The number you dialed is switched off.”

Worried, she called Frederick Owen.

Unexpectedly, Frederick Owen didn’t know the whereabouts of Charles Mcintosh either.

Jasmine Yale felt a bit anxious, she had to ask Frederick Owen to find Charles Mcintosh and to call her imdiately with any news.

That morning, Jasmine Yale went to deliver docunts to Kade Yuvan.

Kade Yuvan had just finished a call, seeing Jasmine Yale approach, he took the docunts from her hands.

“Jasmine, you ca just in ti, the project with the entertainnt center was delayed for about ten days due to Mr. Dick’s health issues. Now that the partnership is restarting, you’ll continue to follow up.”

Jasmine Yale was montarily stunned: “Because of Mr. Dick’s health?”

“Yes, lung infection, spent ten days in the hospital. Old age just brings various ailnts.”

Jasmine Yale still had a shocked expression.

She always thought she hadn’t been involved with the project because Sylvan Cheney wouldn’t let her touch it.

Unexpectedly, it was due to Mr. Dick’s health issues.

She had judged him with a malicious heart.

“There are a few files here, I’ll send them to your email later, look over them carefully.”

Jasmine Yale quickly nodded: “Okay.”

“If you have any new ideas, you can discuss them with or Mr. Cheney.”
