"I still have this amount of money." Sylvan Cheney looked disdainful.

"I don’t think so." Jasmine Yale sipped her orange juice, her expression calm. "There’s no difference between you and , President. At least I still get a substantial salary every month. And you? Sure, you’ve earned significant profits for the Jas Corporation, gained status and reputation. But who owns the Jas Corporation? What’s the family na? You know better than I do. To put it bluntly, you’re making money for the Janus Family, not for yourself."

"Can I take this as you trying to stir up trouble, Jasmine Yale?" Sylvan Cheney’s narrow eyes squinted.

She looked at him, and he looked at her.

"No matter how great or powerful the Jas Corporation is, it doesn’t belong to you. Of course, you’re the Janus Family’s son-in-law, and Miss Janus is the only daughter. So, eventually, it will be yours. So, it makes no difference; just consider what I said as nonsense."

Sylvan Cheney’s long fingers lightly tapped on the table, a deep glint in his eyes.

The corners of his lips lifted in a half-smile, half-smirk: "Jasmine Yale, this isn’t the first ti you’ve tried to stir things up between Alice and ."

"Seems like it." Jasmine admitted openly, smiling, "I wish you and Miss Janus a lifeti of happiness and many children."

With a "bang," Sylvan Cheney slamd the table hard: "Jasmine Yale!"

Jasmine Yale was startled by him. He hadn’t slamd the table or yelled at her in a long ti.

Her heart skipped a beat. She didn’t even know why he was angry.

Did she say sothing wrong?

Probably not.

She clearly offered blessings, so why was he mad? People like him are really difficult.

Scared, she put down her cup and sat properly.

Sylvan Cheney was intensely angry. His sharp eyes fixed straight onto her: "Aren’t you trying to win over? Is this how you try?"

Jasmine Yale’s heart skipped a beat.

Oh, it was days ago, in the hospital; she did say that.

How did he still rember?

She gave a faint smile: "Winning soone over is exhausting. I was just saying it for fun."

Winning a man over is as tiring as pursuing one.

Before he lost his mory, she was always chasing him. Should she now try to win him over after his mory loss? Why is she always doing the hard work?

"For fun? Can things like that be said for fun? Jasmine Yale, go back and reflect on yourself, think about what wrongs you’ve done recently."

"Wrongs?" Jasmine Yale looked puzzled, "What wrongs have I done? I’ve been living honestly and have a clear conscience."

Sylvan Cheney was a bit annoyed: "I’m giving you a chance to pursue ."

Jasmine Yale was completely stunned, what?

What did he say?

Sylvan Cheney was unhappy seeing her dazed expression. He picked up his wine glass again and took a large sip of red wine.

It slid down his throat with nothing but chill.

Suddenly, the air went quiet. Not a sound could be heard.

Jasmine Yale’s heart began to race. She didn’t know what she was feeling; she just felt her heartbeat quickening.

It was as if a current was running through her body, tingling and soft, spreading through every corner of her body.

Under the table, Jasmine Yale’s feet unconsciously ca together, then apart, then together again, feeling uneasy and tense.

Her breathing beca rapid, and it seed like, in the next second, her heart would leap out of her throat.

For an instant, her mind went blank, filled with shock, surprise, and delight.

He... is interested in her?

Jasmine Yale’s eyes, like autumn waters, sparkled, as if a stone had been thrown into a calm lake, breaking the reflection, the eyebrows, the heartbeat, and the ti.
