"Knock knock"—
Jasmine Yale raised her hand to knock on the door.
Sylvan Cheney ca over and personally opened the door for her.
His gaze lingered on her for a long ti, slowly saying, "Co in."
Jasmine Yale nodded, holding a stack of docunts, and followed him inside.
The office was well-lit, with sunlight filling even the corners, exuding energy and vitality.
Sylvan Cheney was dressed in a dark-colored shirt, with a deep gray striped tie, his figure straight and tall.
"What would you like to drink?" Sylvan asked.
"No need, I’m going downstairs in a bit," Jasmine Yale stood in front of the desk, placing the files on his desk.
"What would you like to drink." He looked at her, persistently asking again.
Jasmine Yale was startled, truly persistent.
She had no choice but to say, "A glass of plain water, please."
"Okay."
Sylvan went to the water dispenser to pour her a glass of water, mixing hot and cold water, perfectly warm.
Jasmine Yale took the glass and looked at him.
He was still the sa, clean and fresh, ticulous, with piercing eyes, a cold and sharp face, and an inscrutable expression on his deep contours.
Sylvan did not sit down but stood opposite her, hands in his trousers pockets, his beautiful eyes continuously watching her.
He stood before her, emanating a powerful aura.
Jasmine Yale felt quite uncomfortable under his gaze.
She nervously held the black teacup, unaccustod to being looked at like this.
She shifted her gaze, lowered her head, and took a sip of plain water.
The water was just right in temperature, the warm liquid soothing down her throat, calming the anxious and uneasy feeling in her chest.
The sunlight cascaded over her, bringing warmth.
Though pregnant, she still appeared thin and weak under the loosely fitting coat.
"President... I have so project progress to report to you," Jasmine Yale broke the silence, speaking up though she felt his intense gaze, "there was a communication issue with the entertainnt city project, I’m trying to negotiate, but perhaps it’s my capability..."
"Be my girlfriend." Sylvan Cheney suddenly spoke, cutting off all her words.
His intense gaze fell on her face, firm and composed.
Jasmine Yale’s mind went blank for a mont, raising her head in shock and astonishnt, the cup in her hand almost fell to the ground.
The sudden constriction in her pupils revealed a glimr of surprise, he... what did he say?
Her mind in a blank state, she forgot to breathe for a mont, as if her heart skipped a beat, leaving her standing there dumbfounded.
Her mouth slightly agape, she looked incredulously at Sylvan Cheney as if she were a statue!
He stood very close, right in front of her.
Sylvan Cheney lowered his head, his clean, handso face carrying a serious expression.
When she looked at him, he was also looking at her.
For a mont, the office was quiet, and Jasmine Yale couldn’t hear anything, only Sylvan Cheney’s words "Be my girlfriend" continued to echo in her ears!
What did he say? Is he serious?
Her heart missed a beat then suddenly began pounding fiercely, an unbelievable feeling coursing through her body—sothing she had never experienced before.
Never experienced before.
Because for over twenty years, Sylvan Cheney had never confessed to her.
Is this... considered a confession?
Is it?
Is he joking?
Jasmine Yale suddenly felt so nervous that she couldn’t say a single word, a mix of complex emotions intertwining in her heart.
There was surprise, joy, bewildernt, and unease...
