Sylvan Cheney glanced at her helplessly, stood up, and walked towards her with his long legs.
Jasmine Yale took the A4 paper from his hand.
She skimd it briefly; the words and events weren’t unfamiliar to her, mostly about bad character and being kept by soone.
"I already know, I thought it was sothing new." Jasmine casually returned the paper to Sylvan Cheney, "Not interesting."
Sylvan Cheney crumpled the paper into a ball and threw it into the trash bin.
"I’ve finished most of my work, let’s go, I’ll take you ho." Sylvan Cheney took his suit jacket from the hanger and shut off the computer.
"Okay!" Jasmine Yale obediently stood up, put away her phone, and shouldered her bag.
Jasmine Yale and Sylvan Cheney walked side by side, after Sylvan put on his suit jacket, he reached out to her: "Give the bag, I’ll carry it for you."
Jasmine Yale was genuinely taken aback, her big, bright eyes sparkling.
"What are you stunned for?" Sylvan Cheney frowned slightly.
"No, nothing, thank you, President." Jasmine Yale cheerfully took the bag off her shoulder and handed it to him.
Without carrying anything, it was quite relaxing.
Sylvan Cheney stopped, raised his hand to tuck the stray hairs behind her ear: "Your hair’s ssy, hold on."
Jasmine Yale stood in place with a face full of contentnt, not moving at all.
"Alright, let’s go."
Sylvan Cheney had fully adapted to Jasmine Yale’s pace; she walked slowly, so he did too.
Jasmine Yale walked easily, without any burden.
After office hours, the financial district was much quieter than during the day, especially inside buildings, where no noise could be heard.
The only sound in the corridor was their footsteps, sotis light, sotis heavy, distinctly echoing in the long hallway.
Sylvan Cheney at this mont was completely different from the Sylvan Cheney who would scold her; if given a choice, she’d prefer this one, after all, when he’s fierce, he’s really not human.
"What are you thinking?" Sylvan Cheney spoke, his voice not loud, carrying a touch of warmth and depth.
"President, I used to be very afraid of the dark, especially nights with thunderstorms."
"Get a grip."
"Hmm, there used to be soone who liked to say that to too." Jasmine Yale was imrsed in mories, "Sotis, when I was too scared, I’d cry, and he’d say I was being cowardly."
"He? Male or female?" Sylvan Cheney asked, caring a lot.
"Male."
Sylvan Cheney paused, a faint light appeared in his eyes, but he didn’t speak, continuing forward.
"Wait for !" Jasmine Yale was struggling to keep up, "President, you’re flying to Kermany tomorrow, what ti is the flight?"
"Afternoon."
"Shall I make you a cup of coffee in the morning then?"
"No need." Sylvan Cheney’s tone was sowhat cold.
"Will you still bring a gift?"
"Jasmine Yale, what identity are you using to ask to bring you a gift? Hmm?" At the elevator door, Sylvan Cheney stopped, turned to look at her, his thin lips tightly pressed.
"I..." Jasmine Yale didn’t understand why he was angry, but she could truly see anger in his eyes, "I didn’t ask you to bring a gift, I was just asking, I don’t want a gift. You’ve given and my treasure quite a few gifts lately, no need to buy more."
The elevator arrived with a "ding" as the door opened.
Despite feeling uncomfortable inside, Sylvan Cheney still behaved gentlemanly, standing by the door and holding it open for her to enter the elevator first, following her in afterward.
The elevator descended slowly.
Jasmine Yale stood beside him, her hands lightly intertwined.
