“Worthless things don’t need to be returned to !” Sylvan Cheney said indifferently.
The red string landed in Jasmine Yale’s palm, resembling a lovely little baby, and the red bean was even more adorable.
“You can just throw it away,” Jasmine Yale said lightly, “Even if you give it to , I won’t keep it, it’ll end up in the trash can anyway.”
“Jasmine Yale, you have no heart!”
“Whether I have a heart or not is defined by you; you say I have one when you think I’m good, and say I don’t when you think I’m bad. But whether I have a heart, only I know best.”
Sylvan Cheney gritted his teeth, unable to retort for a mont. When it ca to arguing, he was no match for her.
She would not argue with him, but once she did, he had no room to defend himself.
“While eating earlier, I thought about the stuff you’ve given . I’m unclear on so prices and brands, so have soone calculate it, and I’ll pay you back. Actually, we haven’t been truly dating much, you’re not the only one who’s pursued , but you’re the only man I agreed to.”
“Isn’t your husband also…”
“I pursued him,” Jasmine Yale interrupted, with calm, tranquil eyes.
“Oh, you can actually pursue soone? Didn’t see that coming. I guess your husband must be really rich, right?”
“Yeah, you guessed right, he was very rich.”
“Without money, why would you pursue him?” Sylvan Cheney mocked coldly, “How long has it been since he passed away, and you’ve fallen to renting a place and clinging to n?”
“He went bankrupt,” Jasmine Yale said calmly, “actually, he wouldn’t have gone bankrupt at all. If he had just married his business rival’s daughter, that business crisis would have been resolved. But he didn’t, he said he wanted to be with .”
Sylvan Cheney suddenly laughed, his eyes filled with disbelief, and his tone even more mocking, “Jasmine Yale, you think you’re so celestial beauty? Telling such fairytales to deceive ? A man gives up a company for you? Hah, that’s serious delusion!”
“I’m no celestial beauty, but in his eyes, I was the best. Are you jealous of him?” Jasmine Yale turned her head, staring firmly at him.
In an instant, Sylvan Cheney’s smile froze on his face.
He couldn’t laugh anymore.
His emotions transford into a turbulent storm in his eyes.
A mont later, emotions erupted, “Jealous of him? A woman like you – anyone can have you; why would I be jealous of a dead man!”
In the palm of Jasmine Yale’s hand, the red bean was clenched tightly.
She didn’t respond, simply stroking the red bean repeatedly, unsure of what she was thinking, or perhaps thinking nothing at all.
Out of nowhere, a wave of emotion surged through Sylvan Cheney’s heart.
He turned around, fiercely pulled the seatbelt from the passenger side and fastened it for her, then stepped on the gas pedal, driving the car out of the intersection!
Jasmine Yale didn’t expect him to suddenly start driving, holding the seatbelt tightly, incredulously looking at his tense face, which was cold, authoritative, and distant.
“Where are you taking ?”
“To die together.”
“…” Jasmine Yale stiffened, “That joke isn’t funny at all!”
Sylvan Cheney went silent, took a turn onto the highway.
This road, it’s not the way to the company.
Jasmine Yale grew nervous, she turned to look at him, “Sylvan Cheney, calm down, don’t joke with , I’m pregnant with a baby!”
