Jasmine Yale looked panicked. In the past, she wouldn’t have been worried about anything because the Sylvan Cheney she knew was rational and steady.

Jasmine felt a sudden fright, cold sweat seeping from her back. She reached out to grab the steering wheel from him!
Sylvan glanced over coldly, quickly pushing her hand away, and said blandly, "You’re overthinking this!"
Jasmine let out a breath, her long eyelashes trembling, retracting her hand with an inexplicable look in her eyes.
She twisted her hands nervously, looking at him with unease, "Where are you taking ?"
"Sowhere without people."
"What? Why are you taking to a place with no people? Sylvan Cheney, calm down! We’re just breaking up, can’t we do it amicably?"
Sylvan didn’t respond.
"Sylvan Cheney, you won’t do anything to my baby, right?" Jasmine guarded her stomach, looking at him warily.
Although he was a bit agitated, his driving remained stable, without any sudden surges or drops.
Sylvan still remained silent.
The highway offered a broad view, stretching endlessly, with the continuous stream of vehicles coming and going.
The sound of the wind whistling past filled the air, and Jasmine closed her eyes weakly, opting not to speak any further.
She believed he still retained his rationality.
A man who could handle financial business adeptly post-amnesia surely still had his wits about him.
She leaned back in the seat, one hand resting on her stomach, the other clutching the armrest.
Her face turned to the window, initially listening to the wind outside, until gradually, becoming tired, she started to doze off.
The afternoon’s temperature and sunlight easily brought about a sense of fatigue, making her yawn repeatedly along the way.
She thought, if Sylvan Cheney asked her to be his girlfriend again next ti, she definitely wouldn’t agree.
Is being in a relationship always this exhausting?
She had seen many classmates and colleagues in relationships. When they went through breakups, it often involved a few days of cold silence or so harsh words, but soon after, they either truly parted ways or reconciled. Generally, it was calm and peaceful.
No one was like Sylvan Cheney.
Would he ever break up, truly?
Even asking for the gifts back—she hadn’t seen anything like it.
Thinking about it, Jasmine grew sleepy, closing her eyes and falling asleep.
Sunlight stread in through the window, falling right on her fair face. Her cheeks were slightly flushed, with a dewy glow, her long, butterfly-wing-like eyelashes remaining motionless, slightly curled.
This kind of Jasmine Yale was exceptionally quiet, not fighting, not arguing, with her lips slightly upturned.
Sylvan saw her through the mirror, his gaze halted, filled with a different kind of glimr.
But monts later, he fiercely bit his lips with resentnt, turning his head to glare hard at her.
The car sped down the highway.
Jasmine was probably so exhausted that she didn’t even notice when Sylvan stopped the car; she remained asleep.
The car ca to a steady stop in an empty space, where there was nothing but a patch of open ground and so dilapidated ruins.
The sun seed especially intense in such an empty place.
The glaring sun hung in the sky, with an indescribable laziness, a unique laziness belonging to autumn.
Jasmine was still asleep.
"Eat and sleep, sleep and eat." Sylvan lowered his voice, his eyes filled with disdain.
Jasmine couldn’t hear a thing. She smacked her lips in her sleep, continuing to slumber.
In her sound sleep, she looked delicately charming, a seldom-seen appearance in her everyday deanor.
Sylvan felt the urge for a cigarette, but there was no way to satisfy it.
