"I can work a little harder, little one." He kissed her gently.
The room was full of sunlight, light and shadow intertwined.
This kind of afternoon is exceptionally pleasant, easily making one feel enchanted.
Jasmine Yale was like this, almost mistaking this beautiful late autumn ti for a spring scene. Back then, green willows were light, and she loved snuggling in Sylvan Cheney’s arms; he loved kissing her too.
It felt as if ti hadn’t moved far, as if dreaming.
I thought I’d never see him again in this lifeti.
Fortunately, she stood in ti, and he could still find her through fate.

Sylvan Cheney held her, cautiously placing her onto the bed.
Jasmine Yale hooked her arms around his neck, refusing to let go, and bit twice hard on it, seeing a couple of kiss marks left there; only then did she smile smugly.
"Jasmine Yale, let’s keep going like this." He looked at her, sowhat emotional.
"Who wants to be good with you?" Jasmine Yale playfully retorted.
Sylvan Cheney caught her mischievous hand, kissed it by his lips: "Can I be good with you?"
Jasmine Yale felt he was becoming childish again.
Just like playing house.
Just then, Sylvan Cheney’s phone rang. He glanced at her, tucked her in properly, "Be good, sleep. Call if you need anything."
He pulled the curtains shut for her, and the room plunged into dimness.
This kind of afternoon, this kind of weather, makes sleep inviting.
He gently closed the door.
Only then did Sylvan Cheney open his phone.
It was Doctor Canary.
"CEO Cheney, it’s ."
"Yes."
"CEO Cheney, have you finished your dication for this course? Don’t forget your check-up tomorrow," reminded Doctor Canary.
"I stopped taking the dication long ago, and there’s no need for a check-up either. Since my head injury is healed, there’s no need for further treatnt."
"But CEO Cheney, although the injury healed, haven’t you still not rembered anything?" Doctor Canary asked worriedly.
"For a mont, I don’t want to regain mories because now, it’s good." His gaze rested on the bedroom door, deep as the night sky.
"Are you insisting on giving up treatnt?"
"Doctor Canary, you’ve said my chances of regaining mory are unlikely. In that case, why waste ti?"
"That’s one perspective, but there’s always room for dical miracles; it’s a matter of probability."
"I’ve never been so curious about the unknown, or maybe this ti, I want to be soone who escapes."
Doctor Canary didn’t quite grasp Sylvan Cheney’s words, but he understood one principle: Sylvan Cheney must be satisfied with his current life and doesn’t wish to destroy it himself.
"We doctors always respect the patient’s opinion. If you insist on giving up, then I wish you happiness and a better future."
"Thank you."
"CEO Cheney, you can continue consulting if any issues arise later; I’m more than happy to help."
"Thank you, Doctor Canary, for your ticulous care during this ti."
"You’re courteous."
Hanging up the phone, Sylvan Cheney walked over to the balcony.
Outside the balcony, sunlight was abundant, and the weather was clear.
Every choice cos with a responsibility for the future.
And he is willing to bear the consequences of it all.
He stopped taking the dication long ago, firm in the belief that he could be with Jasmine Yale when he let go of the treatnt.
Jasmine Yale was an unanticipated spirit breaking into his life when he had no preparation.
Since she has co, he will hold her tight.
