Chapter 797: Chapter 797: No One Will Hurt You Anymore

The sky was crystal clear, devoid of any clouds.

The intense sunlight poured out from above, seeping through the leaves and interweaving a complex landscape on the ground.

At this mont, there was a tranquility unique to midday.

The wild winds continued, while the scent of wilting grass spread heavily.

All the staff of the Cheney’s had evacuated the kindergarten, and they surrounded it from the outside.

The winter sun was still weak, faintly shining onto the earth, making the dust in the air flutter indistinctly.

...

The Ferris wheel finally returned to silence, quietly standing in its original place as though nothing had ever happened there.

Water still accumulated on the ground, which stirred into muddied ripples when the wind blew.

The light shone on the water, reflecting a twinkling ripple.

It was peaceful and tranquil.

There wasn’t a single sound to be heard.

Ti ticked away, with the sun subtly shifting in the sky.

The beautiful kindergarten was shrouded in a thin layer of sunlight, radiating a gentle shine, and everything was silent.

A quarter of an hour later.

A full quarter of an hour.

Chale Cheney was running back along the muddy road.

Lilac Serval was the first to see him. She ran up and picked him up from the ground.

Chale Cheney and Lilac Serval weren’t familiar with each other; they had only t once.

One of Chale Cheney’s shoes was missing, and the foot without the shoe was stained with mud. His yellow sock had turned black.

His little arms and little legs exposed to the air were chilly, as if they’d been soaked in water.

There was a bruise on his arm where he had been pinched.

The blood stain on the little guy’s neck had dried. The wound wasn’t deep, but it was still shocking to look at.

Lilac Serval was not very good at dealing with children.

She picked up Chale Cheney purely out of instinct at that mont!

Perhaps, in most won’s subconscious, there was a hidden maternal instinct that could be triggered like a flood, and once it was, it was unstoppable.

Lilac Serval frowned, not knowing how to comfort the child.

She held Chale Cheney, feeling sowhat at a loss.

Chale Cheney blinked his injured eyes, biting on his little finger, and his expression was indescribably uncomfortable.

Suddenly, Charles McIntosh ca over too.

Seeing that Lilac Serval was not good at holding or comforting children, rely exchanging glances with Chale Cheney, he said, “Hand him to .” as he stretched out his arms.

He was very familiar with Chale Cheney.

“Oh.” Lilac Serval carefully handed Little Chale Cheney to Charles McIntosh.

Charles McIntosh was surprisingly adept, holding Little Chale Cheney and whispering to him, “Everything’s okay now, Chale. No one will hurt you anymore. Uncle McIntosh and your Aunt Serval will be with you.”

Charles McIntosh’s voice was as usual, low and gentle.

Chale Cheney seed sowhat shocked. He pouted his little mouth and rubbed his eyes, but he said nothing.

The usually chatty Little Chale Cheney was gone, and he was silent now.

“It’s okay, it’s okay, good boy.” Charles McIntosh patted his head, “Your father will bring your Jasy back, trust your father, okay?”

Chale Cheney nodded.

“What do you want to eat? Let Aunt Serval take you to buy it?” Charles McIntosh offered.

Chale Cheney shook his head.

Lilac Serval took a handkerchief from her pocket and wetted it in the restroom.

She ca over and ticulously wiped the blood from Chale Cheney’s neck and the dirt from his little hands.

Lilac Serval was not good at comforting children, but she saw that Charles McIntosh was quite adept, and Chale Cheney obeyed him.

“You should take him ho. I’m going to catch up with Mr. Cheney.” Charles McIntosh suggested to Lilac Serval.

Lilac Serval’s eyes widened, and she looked back and forth between Charles McIntosh and Chale Cheney.

“?” She shook her head, “I’m not good with children, it’d be better if there were soone to talk to him along the way.”
