Chapter 798: Chapter 798: Just Lying Like This, Not Moving At All

“Besides, I’m not very familiar with him.” Lilac Serval explained awkwardly.

She really wasn’t familiar with Chale Cheney, in fact, Chale might even be a bit resentful towards her because she had deceived him, although it was against her will.

She’d rarely interacted with children during her lifeti, and she didn’t know how to entertain them.

Charles Mcintosh, on the other hand, was quite adept at it.

“So, you take him ho, and I will attend to Mr. Cheney.” Lilac Serval tried to excuse herself.

Charles Mcintosh, holding Chale Cheney, looked at Lilac Serval: “We’ll eventually have children of our own, isn’t it good to start adapting in advance?”

...

Lilac moved her lips, wanting to say “I don’t like children,” but considering Chale Cheney was present, she chose not to.

But she genuinely didn’t know how to deal with children.

She didn’t even know how to hold a child properly.

She shook her head: “Little Chale Cheney is more attached to you, I’m afraid he won’t like …”

Chale Cheney leaned tiredly on Charles Mcintosh’s shoulder, one small hand clutching Charles’ jacket. His pitiful appearance was heartrending.

He held his mouth tight and leaned there, motionless.

His large eyes revealed hurt emotions, this morning’s events had left a shadow over his heart.

“Alright, then I’ll take him ho.” Charles Mcintosh compromised.

“Hmm.” Lilac Serval nodded, pulling Chale’s jacket tight around him.

The little guy’s hands and feet were cold, making him look especially pitiful.

“Jasy.” All of a sudden, he murmured in a light voice.

Both Charles Mcintosh and Lilac Serval heard, but didn’t know how to respond.

“Chale?” Charles Mcintosh lowered his head, looking at the little figure in his arms.

“Hmm?” Chale Cheney looked at Charles Mcintosh, his watery face still had traces of tears.

His bright, dark eyes lacked their usual luster, appearing spiritless.

The little guy kept staring at the kindergarten behind him, as if he was looking at sothing, but his gaze was empty.

“Everything is alright, let uncle take you ho, what do you want to eat? Where do you want to go?” Charles Mcintosh tried to coax him.

“Want Jasy.” Chale Cheney drooped his little head.

“Daddy has gone to get her, she’ll be back soon, wanna go ho with uncle first?”

Chale Cheney kept silent and shook his head.

Lilac Serval stood quietly to the side, not knowing how to help soothe the child.

She genuinely didn’t understand.

“I’ll take him to the hospital first,” Charles Mcintosh said, “You watch over this place.”

“I know.” Lilac responded.

Charles Mcintosh then nodded, carrying Chale Cheney away from the kindergarten.

There were many cars parked outside the kindergarten, also nurous vigilant bodyguards.

“To the children’s hospital.” Charles Mcintosh instructed the driver.

“Yes, Assistant Mcintosh.”

The black car sped down the road, with the strong winds buffeting against the windows, sporadically producing a “rustling” sound as leaves hit the glass.

Charles Mcintosh and Chale Cheney sat side by side at the back.

“Don’t want to go to the hospital.” Chale Cheney mumbled, keeping his head low, “Baby’s not sick.”

“When you get hurt, you have to go to the hospital, understand?”

“Shots hurt, IV drips hurt too.”

“It’ll only hurt montarily, you have to be healthy, so that your Jasy won’t worry.” Charles Mcintosh tried to comfort him.

His comforting palm rested on Chale Cheney’s fluffy head.

After being with Sylvan Cheney for so many years, perhaps he was used to a world of constant change. Now dealing with children, he had a different sense of feeling.

Children were indeed lovely.

His hand didn’t leave Chale Cheney’s small head, continually stroking it, and a thought unexpectedly popped up in his mind.

Would he have such a child in the future?

As soon as the thought erged, he smiled faintly, drifting back to reality.

In his eyes were distant confusion and an elusive, brooding glow.
