Chapter 1036: Just don’t give up
Mo Xiuchen’s eyes darkened with anger as he said sternly, “Ah Feng, I will give you two days to think about it. If you really decide to compromise and marry Qi iling, then I will no longer intervene in your affairs.”
Mo Xiuchen’s voice carried a hint of anger, a dose of seriousness, and a touch of disappointnt at his all-too-easy compromise.
On the other end of the phone, Luo Haofeng’s handso face changed slightly.
He knew Mo Xiuchen well, and he knew that he was angry.
“Xiuchen, I’ve already hurt Xiaoxiao. I can’t let the Qi Family hurt her further,” Luo Haofeng’s grip on the phone tightened inch by inch.
Before he t Bai Xiaoxiao, he didn’t think there was anything wrong with being a playboy.
But since he fell in love with her, he would rather endure and not touch another woman. That night, whether he had touched Qi iling or not, waking up and seeing himself lying next to her made him feel dirty.
When Bai Xiaoxiao sent the ssage to break up with him, he didn’t even have the courage to call her and explain.
“Originally, I was planning to go to D Country with Ranran to find out about Bai Xiaoxiao’s background. Just a DNA test would suffice, why rush this mont?”
“Xiuchen.”
Luo Haofeng called out, his tone complex.
After calling out, he didn’t know what else to say. He was actually very worried, afraid that it was really as his mother and Qi iling’s father had said.
If it was true, he would have no face to see Xiaoxiao ever again.
“I know what you’re thinking, Ah Feng. If you can’t let go of Bai Xiaoxiao, just forget about the past and look forward. Just work towards the goal of being with her,” Mo Xiuchen’s voice lost its earlier anger and took on an undeniable firmness.
“Is that so?” Luo Haofeng had no confidence at all. If that incident was true, then Xiaoxiao would hate him to death and couldn’t possibly be with him.
“We’re here for you, what are you worried about?”
Mo Xiuchen’s firm words had a soothing magic to them.
Luo Haofeng, who dared not hold any hopes before, felt a glimr of hope ignited in his heart upon hearing Mo Xiuchen say this.
If there was any way possible, he did not want to be with Qi iling.
“Xiuchen, when are you and Ranran leaving the country?”
“In the next few days, I need to arrange so company matters first.” The company had been very busy lately.
Luo Haofeng thanked him and hung up the phone, then saw Qin Mu staring at him. He forced a smile and explained, “Xiuchen said that he and Ranran are going abroad soon.”
“To find Bai Xiaoxiao?”
Qin Mu had not heard what Mo Xiuchen had said to Luo Haofeng, but he could guess sothing from what he had just said.
Luo Haofeng nodded and glanced at the water on the coffee table, suggesting, “Ah Mu, join for a couple of drinks.”
“Don’t drink. You’re in a bad mood, and you’ll definitely get drunk,” Qin Mu furrowed his brow slightly and declined softly.
Luo Haofeng’s face changed, probably thinking of the night he had ‘drunk too much’ and then spoke stiffly, “That night, they must have drugged my drink; otherwise, I wouldn’t have no recollection at all.”
“Mo Xiuchen said last night that Ranran didn’t know about your breakup with Bai Xiaoxiao,” Qin Mu sighed softly, his voice calm as he looked at Luo Haofeng, “but since he ntioned going abroad with Ranran, she must know by now.”
“I really want to destroy everything.” Haofeng felt aggravation boiling in his chest upon recalling that matter.
“Uncle Luo is still on your side, Ah Feng, don’t lose hope,” Qin Mu reassured, exhaling a sigh. “There is bound to be a turning point. As long as you don’t give up, both Mo Xiuchen and I will do everything in our power to help you.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Luo Haofeng’s phone began to ring.
His eyes grew cold when he saw Qi iling’s na displayed, and he hung up the call imdiately.
“Ah Feng, you should head back ho. Before things are made clear, try not to offend Qi iling too much. Actually, a lot hinges on her,” Qin Mu’s tone remained even as his eyes briefly swept over the phone screen.
Luo Haofeng pursed his lips and stood up, “Get so rest early, I’ll be going back now,” he said, and strode out of the hotel.
Half an hour later, Luo Haofeng arrived ho to find Qi iling waiting on the sofa in his room.
“Brother Haofeng, why didn’t you answer my call? I was so worried about you.” Qi iling stood up imdiately upon his return. Under the bright crystal lights, she wore only a negligee, looking all the more enticing with nothing underneath.
“Who allowed you into my room?”
Haofeng’s gaze flitted over her negligee and his handso face turned dark imdiately.
A flicker of hurt crossed Qi iling’s eyes. She bit her lip and said softly, “Brother Haofeng, you promised to think it over for three days. Tonight, you owe an answer.”
She had prepared for this mont with a rose-scented bath, making sure she slled delightful, and then slipped into this sheer nightdress. Any other man would have pounced at the sight of her beauty.
But Luo Haofeng looked utterly disgusted—how could she not feel hurt?
Haofeng walked past her to the sofa and sat down. Qi iling followed, taking a seat beside him, “Brother Haofeng, have you made up your mind?”
“Marriage is for a lifeti, iling. Do you realize that marrying would ruin your whole life?”
For Bai Xiaoxiao’s sake, Luo Haofeng suppressed his urge to throw Qi iling out and did his best to sound calm.
Qi iling was stunned, then her face lit up with joy, “Brother Haofeng, I’ve always dread of marrying you since I was little. As long as you’re willing, I’ll be a good wife and treat you well for life.”
Luo Haofeng clenched his fists tightly, fighting the anger within him.
It was impossible to reason with this woman. He pursed his lips, “iling, matters of the heart can’t be forced. Even if I marry you, I can’t make my heart feel what it doesn’t. There are so many n pursuing you; marrying any one of them would make you happier than marrying .”
“No, I only love you, Brother Haofeng. I don’t care if you love or not. Just don’t betray , and I promise to keep your secret if we get married.”
At her words, Luo Haofeng’s expression changed, “You said you’d keep a secret before, but in the end, you still told Xiaoxiao, didn’t you?”
The ntion of this infuriated him.
Seeing a flash of mockery and mistrust in Haofeng’s eyes, Qi iling pressed her lips together hard and raised her finger resolutely, “If you don’t trust , Brother Haofeng, I’ll swear right here in front of you.”
Her face serious, she spoke deliberately, “I, Qi iling, swear to the heavens that as long as Brother Haofeng marries , I will forever keep that secret. If I break this oath, may lightning strike down.”
“Not speaking doesn’t an your family won’t,” Luo Haofeng scoffed dismissively. He didn’t believe in such oaths.
“They won’t talk. Brother Haofeng, I keep my word,” Qi iling said firmly.
