Chapter 1037: 1036 Liking soone is not that easy
G City
Mo Xiuchen took two days to finish the work for the upcoming week, advancing whatever he could and postponing so. He also delegated so tasks to Mo Zixuan.
After booking the flight tickets, Wen Ran asked Qing Feng and Qing Yang to accompany her to Kangning Hospital.
Hearing that she was going to D Country, Gu Kai asked in surprise, “Ranran, what are you going to do in D Country, travel?”
“I’m going to see Xiaoxiao.”
Wen Ran shook her head and replied softly.
“What’s wrong with Bai Xiaoxiao?”
“Just sothing.” Whether it was true or not, Wen Ran didn’t want to spread the word and changed the subject, “Brother, you brought Professor Fang to Kangning Hospital. Do you have feelings for Sister Wei or have you already fallen for her?”
“It’s not so easy to like soone.” Gu Kai smiled lightly, and said airily, “Since I’m dating Zhi Wei, I must fulfill my responsibilities. Transferring her father to Kangning Hospital is not a troubleso matter. It can give her so peace of mind. What’s wrong with that?”
“Brother, you’re not that old. You don’t have to rush into marriage.” Wen Ran teased, causing Gu Kai to frown. “Of course I’m not old.”
Wen Ran chuckled, “Then don’t rush. I’m really afraid that one day you’ll suddenly tell you’re getting married.”
“Don’t worry. I am not a child to treat marriage as child’s play. But dad thinks highly of Zhi Wei, and I see you get along with her quite well too.”
“It’s not us who will spend a lifeti with her, it’s you.”
Wen Ran stopped laughing and spoke seriously.
“Whoever I spend my life with also has to be good to you. You are my only sister, of course I want to marry soone you get along with.”
Gu Kai spoke as if it was a matter of course, and used this as a criterion to asure whether the other party was worth marrying.
Wen Ran twitched her lips, “Brother, don’t worry. As long as you like soone, I like them too. If you don’t like them, no matter how much I do, I wouldn’t want her to beco my sister-in-law.”
Through the glass window, Gu Kai saw Fang Zhi Wei coming down the corridor and smiled, “I understand.”
“What are you two siblings talking about?”
Fang Zhi Wei approached Gu Kai, asking with a gentle smile.
“Don’t you have classes this afternoon? Why are you here again?” Gu Kai pointed to the seat next to him, indicating for her to sit down and chat.
Fang Zhi Wei sat down next to him and replied softly, “I only had one class. I ca over right after it ended. Ranran, I heard from my dad that you just visited the ward.”
“Yes, I am traveling abroad tomorrow, and I ca today to inform my brother. I heard Uncle Fang was hospitalized here, so I just went there. Uncle Fang looked quite good, Sister Wei, if you’re busy, you don’t have to co several tis a day; my brother is here.”
“Are you traveling abroad? Are you going alone or is Mo Xiuchen accompanying you?”
Fang Zhi Wei asked with curiosity.
Wen Ran smiled and said, “Mo Xiuchen is accompanying .”
“That’s good. If you were going alone, it really wouldn’t be reassuring.” Fang Zhi Wei glanced at her abdon, the smile on her face filled with concern. Being already several years older than Wen Ran and now her brother’s girlfriend, she entirely took on the tone of her sister-in-law.
After speaking, Fang Zhi Wei looked towards Gu Kai, “Ah Kai, I want to discuss sothing with you.”
“Brother, Sister Wei, you talk, I’ll leave first.” Seeing that Fang Zhi Wei and Gu Kai had matters to discuss, Wen Ran felt it awkward to linger like a third wheel, so she conscientiously got up to say goodbye.
Fang Zhiwei also quickly stood up and said, “Ranran, what’s the hurry? Your brother and I aren’t discussing anything scandalous.”
“I told Mo Xiuchen I’d et him at the company later. If I’m late, he’ll start to worry.”
Wen Ran explained with a smile, and hearing her ntion a eting with Mo Xiuchen, Fang Zhiwei didn’t press her to stay. Gu Kai knew that Mo Xiuchen had called Ranran earlier, so he simply said, “Ranran, let walk you downstairs.”
“Brother, no need. I’ll go down myself. Qing Feng and Qing Yang are waiting for outside; it’s alright.”
“Ranran, let your brother accompany you. It’s raining outside.”
Fang Zhiwei joined in, knowing how crucial this sister-in-law could be to the outco of her relationship with Gu Kai since the ti Gu Kai brought Wen Ran to et her.
After spending nearly a half day with them, including a trip to the countryside to pick strawberries, Zhiwei had gained a clearer understanding of just how much Gu Kai cared for Wen Ran.
She liked Gu Kai, so she must extend her affection to what he cherished, which ant being kind to Wen Ran.
Wen Ran was not a difficult girl to get along with, so Zhiwei genuinely enjoyed her company.
Fang Zhiwei and Gu Kai accompanied Wen Ran downstairs, linking arms with her warmly. They watched her get into the car before returning to the hospital.
“What were you saying just now?”
Once back in the hospital, Gu Kai turned to Fang Zhiwei, his eyes inquisitive.
Fang Zhiwei smiled gently and said, “Rember the day we ran into Principal Wu at dinner? He found today to ask to persuade you to give a lecture at the school.”

When Wen Ran arrived at the company, Mo Xiuchen was in a eting.
Secretary Lin had also entered the eting room, and according to the receptionist, the eting had started less than half an hour ago; she didn’t know what had happened.
Knowing that Wen Ran was the president’s darling, the receptionist was very enthusiastic, offering her water and fetching milk. She also assured Wen Ran she could call on her for any assistance.
Wen Ran nestled on the office sofa.
She placed both hands on her belly, and before long, she actually fell asleep.
When Mo Xiuchen returned after the eting, the first thing he saw upon entering the office was Wen Ran, asleep on the sofa, her hands protectively over her stomach, her lips curved in a tender smile.
His heart softened instantly, and the anger from the eting evaporated as swiftly as a receding tide.
He stood at the door, his imposing figure silhouetted for a mont, before he strode over to the sofa, bent down, and just as his hand was about to touch her shoulder, he withdrew, turned, and walked into the rest room to get a thin blanket to cover her with.
“Xiuchen, is the eting over? How did I fall asleep?”
As soon as he covered Wen Ran with the blanket, she woke up, her eyes still slightly groggy.
After speaking, she yawned.
Seeing her awake, Mo Xiuchen removed the blanket from her, and asked in a soft voice, “Why didn’t you sleep in the rest room? It’s easy to catch a cold out here.”
“I didn’t expect to fall asleep.”
Wen Ran let out a smile, her clear, probing eyes gazing at him, “When you called earlier, you didn’t ntion you had a eting in the afternoon. Why did it suddenly co up?”
Mo Xiuchen’s eyes twinkled, a doting smile appearing on his lips. His long fingers brushed past her hair by her ear, and he said with a nonchalant air, “It was a last-minute decision. I forgot to call you.”
