Chapter 1038: 1037 heading to City C
As Mo Xiuchen finished speaking, Wen Ran felt a tickle in her throat and couldn’t help but cough.
“Ranran, are you catching a cold?”
Upon hearing Wen Ran’s cough, Mo Xiuchen’s expression imdiately beca tense, and he reached out to wipe her forehead. Looking at his worried face, Wen Ran smiled reassuringly, “Xiuchen, I’m fine.”
“Really? You’re in a delicate condition right now; you can’t afford to get sick.”
Mo Xiuchen was still not completely reassured and frowned while looking at her steadily.
Although her forehead wasn’t hot, Mo Xiuchen couldn’t stop worrying, considering she might have caught a chill while sleeping on the couch. His hand moved from her forehead down to grasp hers.
Wen Ran didn’t pull away, allowing him to hold her hand as he said, puzzled, “Your hand isn’t cold either. Let’s go to the hospital and have a look.”
“Xiuchen, really, it’s nothing. Just get a cup of boiled water to drink, and I’ll be fine. I didn’t feel cold while I was asleep, and besides, it’s not low enough in here to catch a cold easily.”
Mo Xiuchen went to pour her a cup of boiled water, and after she drank it, he didn’t insist on going to the hospital anymore. However, he called ho and asked Nanny Zhang to make so ginger soup.

After Mo Zixuan left, Mo Xiuchen took the initiative to explain.
Wen Ran was shocked and her face imdiately showed her concern, “Doesn’t that an they’re in danger…how could this…”
Mo Xiuchen stopped her from continuing and gently soothed, “Don’t worry.”
How could Wen Ran not worry about such a serious incident? Without a second thought, she said, “Then you shouldn’t accompany to D Country. I can go by myself; you should hurry to City C.”
“That’s not an option. I won’t feel at ease if you go alone.”
Mo Xiuchen frowned and firmly rejected the idea.
A hint of hesitation flickered in Wen Ran’s eyes, “Right, the other day Aunt Qiao said that ng Ke will be going to D Country soon. Maybe I can ask him when. If you’re worried, Qing Feng and Qing Yang can go with .”
Seeing Mo Xiuchen’s displeased look, Wen Ran quickly abandoned the idea of traveling with ng Ke.
The ringtone of a mobile phone sounded, and Mo Xiuchen took it out, glanced at it, then pressed the end call button. “Forget it, I’ll delay my trip to D Country a few more days; don’t rush, I’ll wait for you to co back.”
Coming out of the elevator, Wen Ran changed her mind, as she was worried about Mo Xiuchen.
Mo Xiuchen smiled slightly, feeling a warm surge in his heart from Ranran’s concern and said gently, “Go ahead, Ranran. Ah Feng is being pressed hard by Qi iling; if it’s delayed one more day, he might really give in.”
Wen Ran looked up at him, her brows slightly furrowed, “But I’m worried about you.”
“Dummy, there’s nothing to be worried about. Maybe I’ll even co back tomorrow morning.” As they walked out of the company building, the rain had gotten heavier than when Wen Ran arrived.
With the wind blowing, Wen Ran’s hair was suddenly swept up.
Qing Feng and Qing Yang saw them co out and imdiately approached with an umbrella.
Mo Xiuchen tucked Wen Ran’s hair behind her ear, his long arm wrapped around her waist, protecting her in his embrace, and he instructed Qing Feng to tilt the umbrella more towards her, blocking both the wind and rain.
In the parking lot, Mo Zixuan and two other company executives were waiting there. Mo Xiuchen ignored their presence and escorted Wen Ran to the sidewalk to watch her get into the car.
“The rain is heavy; drive slowly.”
After instructing Qing Yang, Mo Xiuchen turned and walked to the car that had co for him, bending down to get inside.
As the car got going, Qing Feng asked, “Miss Wen, is Young Master Mo going to City C? I just saw the news that there was a mudslide there, many people downstream were affected, and several Haochen employees were buried too, the police are still conducting a rescue…”
Qing Feng didn’t finish his sentence as he was glared at by Qing Yang who was driving. Blinking, he changed his line, “Miss Wen, you don’t have to worry, maybe by the ti Young Master Mo arrives, they will have already been rescued.”

Wen Ran replied with a faint smile, the worry in her eyes dissipating sowhat.
She had not missed the glance Qing Yang gave Qing Feng. Knowing they were afraid to affect her mood, there was no need to show her worry even though she was anxious about Xiuchen. She didn’t need to burden those around her with her worries.
Back ho, Nanny Zhang imdiately brought ginger soup. Wen Ran drank a bowl, had so dinner, and then went upstairs.
Turning on the TV, she watched a live broadcast of the rescue scene in City C, and her brows were tightly furrowed again.
The rain in City C still hadn’t stopped, and half the people buried by the mudslide had not been rescued after two to three hours.
Among those rescued, so had already perished.
The mudslide disaster ca too rapidly and too severely, with rocks still falling during the rescue effort.
When her eyes began to tire, Wen Ran got up, took a shower, and as she ca out, her phone rang; it was Mo Xiuchen calling.
“Xiuchen, have you arrived?”
Wen Ran pressed the answer button and spoke softly.
“Ranran, I’m here, and now I’m heading to the site. You’ve had a shower, so rest up early. Tomorrow, let Qing Feng and Qing Yang accompany you to D Country.”
Mo Xiuchen’s voice ca through, tinged with the sound of wind and rain from the other end.
