The next day, Bai Yiyi got up early to prepare breakfast for her mother and Tongtong. After having breakfast with them, she received a call from Jing Xiaocha.
“Xiaocha, wait at ho, I’ll co to pick you up.”
After arranging with Jing Xiaocha, Bai Yiyi told her mother that she had sothing to attend to and would be going out, asking her to take care of Tongtong.
“Yiyi, are you going to see Fang Zhiwei?”

Bai Yiyi picked up Jing Xiaocha, and they arrived at the nursing ho at nine in the morning.
Sunlight filtered through the treetops by the roadside, casting a dappled scene on the ground. Though there was a breeze, it didn’t feel cold against the face.
The consecutive days of clear weather gave people the impression that spring had arrived early.
“Sister Yiyi, let’s go.”
Jing Xiaocha smiled at Bai Yiyi and led the way.
She often visited the nursing ho and easily found her way to Grandma Li’s room. Before knocking, Jing Xiaocha leaned in to listen briefly.
She pushed the door open, and Grandma Li, who was standing by the window, turned her head with delight, “Xiaocha… and who is this?”
Seeing Bai Yiyi enter with her, a trace of surprise and unvoiced disappointnt flashed through Grandma Li’s eyes.
Earlier, she thought it was Fang Zhiwei coming to see her.
Jing Xiaocha cheerfully went over to support Grandma Li, saying lightly, “Grandma Li, let introduce you. This is Sister Yiyi, whom I ntioned to you before.”

Grandma Li nodded, “Alright, I will call you Yiyi.” After speaking, she turned to Jing Xiaocha and asked, “Xiaocha, why didn’t Zhiwei co with you? By the way, Yiyi, do you know Zhiwei?”
Bai Yiyi’s eyes flickered slightly, but she maintained her smile, “Grandma Li, I do know Sister Wei. When I heard from Xiaocha last night that you are Sister Wei’s grandmother, I was curious and wanted to co.”
When Grandma Li ntioned her granddaughter, her smile beca radiant, “You know Zhiwei too?”
“Grandma Li, Sister Yiyi knew Sister Wei even before I did. I’ve only known Sister Wei for a few days.” Jing Xiaocha’s words made Grandma Li’s eyes light up, filled with an eagerness to hear more about her granddaughter from Bai Yiyi.
Bai Yiyi noticed Grandma Li’s excitent, and her throat inexplicably felt a bit dry. The words she intended to say suddenly hesitated.

Grandma Li frowned slightly.
“Last year, soone deliberately stirred things up, saying I destroyed the relationship between Sister Wei and Gu Kai, but Sister Wei didn’t believe those rumors. She even attended a press conference with us. But three months ago, soone sent Sister Wei so photos and a very nasty letter in my na.”
“Let continue; I know about that incident.” Jing Xiaocha eased her shoulder massaging and took over Bai Yiyi’s recount, “Sister Fang’s father, Professor Fang, was so shocked by the letter and photos that he passed away despite rescue efforts. Since then, Sister Fang resented both Doctor Gu and Sister Yiyi.”
“So, Zhiwei now has no parents and is all alone?”

“Are the many people you ntioned the good people Xiaocha told about before?”
Grandma Li raised her head to look at Jing Xiaocha.
Jing Xiaocha imdiately replied, “Yes, Grandma Li, they are Brother Wen, Sister Wen, and others I ntioned before. Sister Fang has been spending ti with all of us during the days around the New Year.”
