Chapter 1837: Chapter 1836: For Your Child

On the way back to the company, Wen Ran asked Mo Xiuchen, “Xiuchen, will Xu Wanqi tell everything she knows?”

Although Qing Yang has already woken up, whether she says it or not, the police already know about ng Ke’s cris.

But she might not really say anything.

Mo Xiuchen was focused on driving. Hearing Wen Ran’s words, he turned his head and smiled gently at her, saying lightly, “Whether Xu Wanqi talks or not is no longer important.”

“Why?”

Wen Ran looked curiously at Mo Xiuchen. Even if Xu Wanqi doesn’t know much, she knows sothing, and definitely more than Qing Yang!

Mo Xiuchen freed one hand to ruffle her hair.

Wen Ran just gave him a sidelong glance and didn’t avoid it.

After ruffling her hair, Mo Xiuchen placed his hand back on the steering wheel and explained gently, “What Xu Wanqi knows is nothing more than the things when she followed ng Ke to M Country. As for ng Ke’s current plan, it will definitely change.”

“Are you so sure?”

Wen Ran frowned, wondering if ng Ke didn’t trust Xu Wanqi either.

“Currently ng Ke doesn’t know Qing Yang has woken up. If he really set up Xiaoxiao to leave the country, he certainly wouldn’t miss the opportunity to go to D Country.”

Wen Ran nodded, extrely impressed by Mo Xiuchen’s analysis, “Xiuchen, you’re still the smart one. If Lu Zhiyan sends people now, can they catch ng Ke?”

“In theory, yes, but no one can guarantee exactly what will happen.”

Plans often can’t keep up with changes.

At least, Xu Wanqi, who is still detained, can’t inform ng Ke.

But what Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran don’t know is that just because Xu Wanqi can’t inform doesn’t an no one else can.

The mont ng Ke woke up, a nurse he had previously bribed at Kangning Hospital called to inform him.

And at this very mont, ng Ke was boarding a flight from Bali Island, heading to D Country.

He had moved the original plan forward. As soon as he learned that Qing Yang had woken up, he called to change the plan.

Although the police only know about his smuggling, and not that Bai Xiaoxiao was tricked into leaving the country by him, ng Ke feels that Mo Xiuchen, Luo Haofeng, and others aren’t fools.

They have always suspected him and would definitely take precautions.

Of course, if they hadn’t suspected anything, and all of this was just his overthinking, that would be even better.

Regardless, he must take Bai Xiaoxiao away this ti. It’s his only chance. With his identity exposed, he can’t return to the country and walk into a trap.

Lu Zhiyan returned to the police station and imdiately went to interrogate Xu Wanqi.

Seeing the smile at the corner of Lu Zhiyan’s mouth and that hint of sarcasm, even before asking any questions, Xu Wanqi’s face turned pale.

Lu Zhiyan waved a small notebook in front of her, then stowed it away.

He leaned back in his chair, raised an eyebrow, and coldly looked at Xu Wanqi, “Xu Wanqi, do you know what’s inside here?”

Xu Wanqi bit her lip tightly, looking at Lu Zhiyan with a resentful glare.

Lu Zhiyan had just been to the hospital, and now he was showing her that notebook.

It probably contained evidence provided by Qing Yang.

Thinking of this, she clasped her hands tightly together, the tension and panic in her heart manifesting visibly on her face.

Lu Zhiyan laughed coldly, observing Xu Wanqi’s panic, “I told you I’d give you an hour. Even if you don’t talk, we’ve already obtained evidence of your and ng Ke’s cris.”

“Since you already know, why ask ?”

Xu Wanqi quickly regained her composure. She was pregnant now, so perhaps the law would show her leniency, right?

As long as she could avoid prison for the ti being, she had a chance.

“I’m asking where ng Ke is right now. If you’re willing to cooperate with us in capturing ng Ke, it will only benefit you, not harm you.”

Lu Zhiyan’s expression turned serious, and his tone suddenly deepened.

Xu Wanqi’s ntal fortitude wasn’t great, but she was persistent, and her love for ng Ke was sothing others couldn’t understand.

No matter how clear it was that she knew these things, she just wouldn’t say.

“What’s in it for ?”

“If you tell us everything you know, we’ll plead with the judge for leniency for you…”

Before he finished speaking, Xu Wanqi interrupted him, “Leniency, can you get released without charges? You can’t, right? Since talking or not still makes guilty, why should I tell you anything?”

“Don’t you care about the child in your belly?”

Lu Zhiyan’s words made Xu Wanqi’s expression change.

“I won’t betray the father of my child.”

“Does ng Ke plan to have the child in your belly?” Lu Zhiyan spoke casually, but hit Xu Wanqi’s sore spot.

Her already sowhat pale face turned deathly white.

ng Ke had said before that they weren’t suited to have children right now.

Xu Wanqi knew better than anyone else that they truly didn’t intend to have the child, at least not right now.

“Xu Wanqi, ng Ke’s heart is not set on you. If he really gets together with Bai Xiaoxiao, would he still care about you and the child in your belly?”

Lu Zhiyan observed Xu Wanqi’s sorrow, softened his tone slightly, and adopted a gentle approach.

A child ans different things to a father and a mother.

ng Ke can have many children; he can find many won to bear them for him. But Xu Wanqi can’t because this child is the crystallization of her love for the man she loves.

If there really is love between them.

A flicker of struggle appeared in Xu Wanqi’s eyes, but she loved ng Ke, deeply, intensely.

For ng Ke, she was willing to die without complaint.

But now, she was already a mother. From the mont she learned of her pregnancy, she joyfully imagined the life after the child’s birth.

“Xu Wanqi, even if you don’t think for yourself, you should think for the child in your belly. Would you want your child to be ridiculed and grow up under others’ derision and bullying right from birth?”

“No, I won’t let that happen.”

Xu Wanqi suddenly scread.

Her eyes were filled with panic and pain. She didn’t want her child to be pointed at and mocked from birth.

Seeing her emotional turmoil, Lu Zhiyan pressed the issue, “If you don’t want your child to suffer because of parents like you, facing disdain and ridicule from others, then you should disclose everything you know. Only then will you have the chance and right to be with your child.”

Xu Wanqi lowered her head in sadness.

Her mind was in chaos and conflict. If she and ng Ke both went to jail, what would happen to her child?

Images of Wen Ran’s smart and adorable girl and boy twins appeared in her mind. Although she’d only seen them once or twice, those twins had left a deep impression on her.

A feeling called maternal love spread across her heart, clashing fiercely with her love for ng Ke.

Lu Zhiyan noticed her internal conflict. He didn’t press further but quietly waited for her to voluntarily confess.
