Chapter 474: Punish her

“Ranran, I need to use the restroom, can you accompany ?”

Li Qian randomly interrupted their conversation. Wen Ran glanced at Bai Xiaoxiao, who still looked furious, and softly agreed, “Sure, I’ll go with you. Xiaoxiao, you should calm down. It’s not worth getting upset over soone like Tong Shishi.”

“Ranran, could you lend your phone?”

Seeing Wen Ran getting up, Bai Xiaoxiao reached out to ask for her phone.

Without hesitating, Wen Ran handed her the phone, gave her a reassuring smile, and then followed Li Qian to the restroom.

After Bai Xiaoxiao blocked Tong Shishi’s number, she took out her own phone and dialed Mo Xiuchen’s number once they were gone.

After a few rings, a low and masculine voice ca through. “Hello?”

“Mo Xiuchen, it’s Bai Xiaoxiao. I need to speak to you.”

“What’s the matter?” Mo Xiuchen’s voice was laced with a hint of confusion and concern and he suddenly sat up straight, concerned that sothing might have happened to Wen Ran.

“A mont ago, Tong Shishi sent a ssage to Ranran, all about the contents of the front-page news that day.”

“What? Did Ranran see it?”

Mo Xiuchen’s voice, now mixed with the sound of a chair sliding, resounded over the phone. Upon hearing Xiaoxiao’s words, he imdiately stood up with such force that his chair slid back about a ter due to inertia.

“Don’t worry just yet, Ranran didn’t see it. I snatched her phone and deleted the ssages, but that’s not a long-term solution.”

Noticing his concern, Bai Xiaoxiao quickly explained.

She told him so he could be prepared, since the scandal was not over yet and Wen Ran would learn about it sooner or later in G City. She had snatched Wen Ran’s phone because she had suddenly thought that Tong’s ssages might include those scandalous details. And indeed, she had guessed right.

Mo Xiuchen let out a long sigh. When he spoke again, his voice was tinged with lancholy. “I see. Xiao Xiao, thank you.”

“I’m Ranran’s friend, I don’t want her to get hurt.” Bai Xiaoxiao turned her head and glanced in the direction of the living room, before saying softly, “I took advantage of the mont when Ranran went away with Li Qian to call you. I should hang up now. It would be bad if she hears.”

“Uh-huh.”

Without saying much, Mo Xiuchen ended the call. His handso brows furrowed; in the depths of his profound eyes, a hint of icy chill laced his gaze; with the aura radiating off him, a slight hint of animosity could be felt.

“Xiuchen, what’s wrong?”

Just as Qin Mu, holding a contract, walked in and noticed the gloomy look on Mo Xiuchen’s face, he couldn’t help but squint his eyes to observe him, his gaze full of inquiry.

Mo Xiuchen slid back into his chair and pressed his lips together, “Tong Shishi sent Ranran a ssage. She wanted to let her know about what happened.”

At his words, Qin Mu’s eyes darkened, and his handso brows frowned in surprise, “Tong Shishi? What is she trying to do? Did Wen Ran see it? Why are you still sitting here distressed? You should go find her imdiately.”

“No, Bai Xiaoxiao snatched the phone away and deleted the ssages, so Ranran doesn’t know yet.”

Mo Xiuchen explained coldly. The coldness in his eyes was not receding. Apparently, unless Tong Shishi was taught a lesson, she wouldn’t know any better.

Qin Mu let out a quiet sigh of relief and thought for a mont, “While you and Wen Ran weren’t in G City, we didn’t really pay attention to Tong Shishi. But she might have been in touch with Mo Zixuan. Could it be that Mo Zixuan asked her to do this?”

“Mo Zixuan hasn’t co back yet, so it’s unlikely.”

A hint of thought flashed in Mo Xiuchen’s eyes. Mo Zixuan had gone to the police station to persuade Xiao Wenqing but he hadn’t returned to the company, so he wasn’t sure about the result.

Xiao Wenqing had been involved with Wu Tianyi before, so they might still be in contact with each other.

“Then it’s probably Tong Shishi holding grudges against you and Wen Ran. Her dream of marrying Little Liu was shattered, and then she had a miscarriage. She probably thinks that you are responsible for her miscarriage.”

Qin Mu calmly analyzed the possibilities.

“Regardless of what her motives were, I will let her know the consequences of her actions.” A trace of ruthlessness flashed in Mo Xiuchen’s eyes as he dialed a number.

“Who will teach her a lesson?”

Amazent flashed across Qin Mu’s eyes as he watched Mo Xiuchen dial the number.

“Qing Yang and Qing Feng.”

As Mo Xiuchen spoke, Qing Feng’s clear, cheerful voice ca through the phone, “Hello, Young Master Mo!”

Qin Mu remained silent, standing aside and listening as Mo Xiuchen instructed Qing Feng to teach Tong Shishi a lesson.

After hanging up the phone, Mo Xiuchen took the contract from Qin Mu and skimd through it quickly, before saying, “I’ll go pick up Wen Ran now. If Mo Zixuan returns, have him give a call.”

“Go ahead, I’ll attend tonight’s dinner party for you.”

Without waiting for Mo Xiuchen to give instructions, Qin Mu proactively offered to share the burden, so Mo Xiuchen could spend more ti with Wen Ran.

A hint of surprise flashed across Mo Xiuchen’s eyes as he looked into Qin Mu’s calm, dark eyes. A feeling of warmth welled up in his heart. He pressed his lips together and said softly, “Ah Mu, thanks.”

Qin Mu was slightly taken aback.

He quickly regained his composure and replied with a smile, “I hope all these matters end soon.”

Mo Xiuchen returned the smile warmly. So things didn’t need to be verbalized—they both understood. He knew that Qin Mu was fond of Wen Ran. Strangely enough, he didn’t feel jealous this ti; instead, he felt sorry for Qin Mu.

Earlier, he had been incredibly jealous of Wen Jin’s feelings for Wen Ran. He lost control of his tongue and even said things he shouldn’t have. Now, as his love for Ranran deepened, he no longer felt jealous of his love rivals.

Not just Qin Mu, but also Wen Jin.

**

Less than ten minutes after Mo Xiuchen had left, Mo Zixuan returned to the company.

As soon as he went up, he headed straight to Mo Xiuchen’s office. He pushed the door open, and seeing Qin Mu sitting behind the desk dealing with docunts, without a sight of Mo Xiuchen, he frowned and asked curiously, “Where’s Mo Xiuchen? Isn’t he in the office?”

Qin Mu looked up from the docunts, his sharp gaze t Mo Zixuan’s. He held his gaze for a brief mont, then replied indifferently, “Xiuchen said to call him when you arrived.”

Mo Zixuan’s eyes flickered sowhat awkwardly, “I haven’t managed to convince my mother yet. I was just trying to improve our relationship today. He’s being a bit too anxious wanting a result now.”

Qin Mu responded coldly, “We’re not talking about Xiao Wenqing. It’s about Tong Shishi.”

“Tong Shishi?”

Mo Zixuan was taken aback. He stopped and stared at Qin Mu from a distance, “Why does he want to find Tong Shishi? What does this have to do with ?”

Qin Mu’s gaze fixed sharply on Mo Zixuan and said slowly and clearly, “Last ti, Tong Shishi got the information about Wen Ran’s identity from you. Then, she leaked it to Wu Tianyi, leading to the scandalous rumors. Just half an hour ago, Tong Shishi sent a ssage to Wen Ran about the news she didn’t see.”
