After all, there was never a lack of ridiculous stories. Most of the audience had aesthetic fatigue. On the contrary, so warm and fresh stories were more attractive.

She asked, "What about the stories with healing power?"

Director Caleb asked, "Are you saying stories of redemption?"

Janice nodded.

Director Caleb imdiately made a decision. "It’s settled then."

At noon, Janice bumped into Lucy in the dining hall.

Lucy told her about the dog. "I’ve already called him. We’ve agreed to et tonight. Do you have ti to co with ?"

Janice thought for a mont, then nodded. "Sure." "Well, let’s go together after work," Lucy reminded her.

Janice nodded. After returning to her office, she sent a WhatsApp ssage to Christopher. "Tonight, I have sothing to do, so you don’t have to pick up."

Christopher saw this ssage, then he put down his phone with a frown. Suddenly, the phone rang. It was from Jas. He picked it up.

"Chris, I heard that Sophie is back."

Jas’s gossipy voice ca through the phone.

Christopher frowned. "If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up."

"Wait, of course I have sothing to tell you." Jas quickly stopped him.

Christopher coldly said, "Speak!"

Jas hesitantly asked, "Do you know your wife’s best friend?"

Christopher paused. "What best friend?"

"The one I told you last ti, very arrogant. She seems to be a doctor."

Christopher rembered that Janice did have such a friend.

He asked, "What’s wrong? Why are you asking her?"

Jas replied, "Because my mother insists on bringing us together."

Christopher rembered that Janice had quarreled with him because of this matter.

He didn’t want to make Janice unhappy.

He said, "I can’t help you with this. Deal with it yourself."

After that, he hung up the phone directly.

When Jas listened to the beep sound, he dissatisfiedly thought, "He hung up so fast. Is he really my bro?"

Therefore, he was unwilling to give up and called again.

"If you don’t help find out, I’ll tell your wife about what happened between you and Sophie three years ago."

"How dare you!"

Even they weren’t face to face, Jas couldn’t help but tremble. However, he realized that Christopher couldn’t hit himself at this ti, so he plucked up his courage and said with a cheeky smile, "If you ask around for , of course, I won’t tell her. Please help , Chris."

Christopher was annoyed when he heard that. "Okay, I’ll ask for you."

"Okay."

This ti, without waiting for Christopher to hang up, Jas hung up the phone at first.

Hearing the beeping sound, Christopher could not help frowning. Putting away the phone, he was not in the mood for work. He threw the docunt aside, got up, and walked out.

After work, Janice and Lucy went to a decent western restaurant where they had appointed.

When they arrived, the man had already arrived. "Hello, Ms. Gladwell. Nice to et you." The man nodded.

Janice still rembered him. Yesterday at the club, it was he who told her about the dog thing.

She said, "Nice to et you too."

...

"Please take a seat."

The three of them sat down.

"Let introduce myself first. I’m Quentin Vincent, the honorary chairman of Kennel Club. I am single."

Lucy and Janice exchanged glances and were amused by his humorous tone.

"You know who we are, so we don’t have to introduce us. Mr. Vincent, do you have any more clues? There are too few clues at present, and I don’t know where to start." Lucy answered honestly.

"Lucy, to tell you the truth, we don’t have any new clues. However, this matter has been professionally identified. I can call Dr. Valen, who is in charge of the autopsy, over. She knows more about the specifics. Why don’t you let her answer it?"

Lucy thought it was feasible, so she said, "Thank you."

Then Quentin got up to make a call.

After he left, Lucy asked, "Is this person reliable?"

Lucy thought, "After all, he doesn’t know anything about it."

Janice shook her head. "I don’t know either, but I think I know that Doctor Valen."

"I see," Lucy hesitantly said.

"There are so many people around. Don’t be afraid. Let’s listen to what they would say at first," Janice comforted.

Lucy nodded.

After a while, Quentin ca back. "Please wait for a mont. Doctor Valen will be here soon."

Janice and Lucy nodded.

During this period, the three chatted for a while.

Not long after, Doctor Valen that Quentin had ntioned arrived. It was indeed Sophie Valen.

Sophie saw Janice and was slightly surprised. "Hey, Ms. Gladwell."

Janice replied, "I ca with my colleague."

After the two greeted each other, Sophie sat down and said, "The details are in this autopsy report. You can read it carefully. I’ve made detailed introductions of each part."

She took out a docunt from her bag and handed it over.

When Lucy held it in her hand, Janice glanced at it. When she saw so very horrible photos, she couldn’t help praising, "I didn’t expect Doctor Valen who looks so tender to be so brave."

Sophie said, "These are all professional needs. By the way, you can just call Sophie."

Janice nodded. "Alright, then call Janice."

Sophie nodded, but narrowed her eyes slightly in secret.

By the ti it ended, it was already past eight o’clock in the evening.

They left the restaurant together.

Because Janice and Lucy hadn’t driven, Quentin proposed to send them back.

However, the two of them turned him down tactfully.

After all, he was a strange man whom they had only t once.

Sophie seed to have noticed their worries and said, "Why don’t I send you off?"

"Isn’t that a little too troubleso?" Janice embarrassedly said.

Sophie answered, "No, I have nothing to do anyway. Let’s go."

She took the car key and walked toward the car.

Janice and Lucy then entered the rear of the car.

Sophie first asked for the address of Lucy’s house. After sending Lucy back, she looked at Janice who sat in the back seat and said, "Janice, why don’t you sit next to ? It’ll be easier for us to talk."

Janice nodded. "OK."

She got out of the car and sat beside her.

Sophie started driving.

Janice suddenly rembered sothing and said happily, "Oh yes. I’m now able to ask Nino to jump over hurdles as well."

She didn’t notice the stiffness that flashed past Sophie’s face.

...

But she quickly hid her expression.

"Really?"

"Yes," Janice didn’t notice the change in her expression and continued, "it turns out that Nino likes listening to songs. You were singing it for her at the ti, right?"

A trace of unnaturalness flashed past Sophie’s face.

"Yes."

"That’s really a coincidence. I didn’t expect you to know a lot about dogs’ spirit."

Sophie forced out a smile.

At this mont, Janice’s phone suddenly rang. She saw that it was a call from the program’s Director Troy.

She said, "I have to answer a call."

Sophie lightly smiled and nodded.

Only then did Janice pick up the phone. "Hello, Director Troy."

As the director kept saying, Janice nodded her head profusely.

Finally, she said, "I believe a story of healing can comfort the audience. Of course, this is just my suggestion. The key is to find a suitable story, what do you think?"

"Okay, that’s it. Goodbye."

When she hung up, she t Sophie’s gaze and explained, "I hope I didn’t disturb you."

Sophie shook her head, but rembered what she had just said.

Not long after, the car stopped outside the villa. Janice unbuckled her seatbelt, got out, and said, "Thank you, Doctor... Sophie."

Sophie smiled. "Then I’ll contact you when the club has any activities in the future."

"Okay."

After her car drove away, Janice walked into the house.

However, she did not know that Sophie, who was in the car, was staring at her through the rearview mirror. After Janice walked in, her lips curled coldly and she dialed a number.

"Let’s have a et."

She put away the phone and drove the car away.

Not long after, the car stopped besides a quiet cafe.

Sophie walked into and sat down. Not long after, Cecilia arrived as well. "Sophie, what’s the matter? It’s so late. Why are you in such a hurry?"

Sophie looked at Cecilia who was panting heavily and asked, "Do you know how to tell a story?"

Cecilia didn’t quite understand. "Tell a story?"

"Tell a story about the healing type."

Cecilia was even more confused.

Sophie didn’t explain too much and only said, "You don’t need to know the details. You just need to be a storyteller."

Hearing that, Cecilia nodded.

In her heart, however, she was still wondering what exactly Sophie wanted her to do.

When Janice returned ho, Christopher was sitting in the living room watching TV. When he saw her coming back, he turned off the TV and greeted, "You’re back."

Janice nodded and walked in after changing shoes. "You haven’t been asleep yet." Christopher frowned, reached out to take her bag, and hung it on the wall.

"I am waiting for you. Why don’t tell the ti you co back, I can pick you up?" "There’s no need. A friend drove ho," Janice replied. Christopher was surprised and asked, "A man or a woman?"

"A woman. She is a doctor."

She rubbed her sore shoulders and walked forward.

When Christopher heard "doctor", he rembered what Jas had asked him to do before. He followed her and asked, "Is she your best friend you ntioned?"

Janice shook her head. "No, another pet doctor."

Christopher nodded and asked hesitantly, "What about your best friend? How is she now?"
