It was already noon, and whatever she had eaten in the morning was long digested. Why was he still sitting there, unmoving? He had scolded her this morning while having breakfast, saying she should wait for him before eating. Tsch, he was clearly the one who didn’t co over, leaving her sitting here waiting. Being hungry with food right in front of her, yet not being able to eat, wasn’t that torture?

Hmm, why isn’t he coming yet?
Seeing Maxwell Peary still engrossed in his docunts, signing non-stop, she frowned and stomped towards him, annoyed. "Uncle, let’s eat."
Nia Mitchell reached over, intending to drag Maxwell Peary to the dining area. Of course, it was virtually impossible for her to move soone as tall as Maxwell Peary if he was uncooperative. And right now, Maxwell Peary was just being uncooperative, sitting there without budging.
Nia Mitchell rested her face on his desk, pouting pitifully. "Can we eat now? I’m hungry."
Seeing her pitiful expression, Maxwell Peary’s heart softened, so he put down his pen. "Alright, let’s go eat."
As soon as Maxwell Peary finished speaking, he lifted her by her waist.
"AH!"
Startled, Nia Mitchell quickly wrapped her arms around Maxwell Peary’s neck. "What are you doing? Let’s go eat quickly!"
Maxwell Peary looked at her and laughed, his deep eyes eting her clear, bright ones, making his heart lt. Caught off guard, Nia Mitchell found her lips brushed by Maxwell Peary’s kiss.
"What’s the matter?"
This was strange. Why did he suddenly kiss her?
"Nia Mitchell, what do I do? Suddenly, I can’t bear to see you walk on your own. It pains my heart."
Nia Mitchell’s face turned red. What was he talking about?
"Put down quickly."
Nia Mitchell struggled free from Maxwell Peary’s embrace. Embarrassed, she ran to the couch, opened the food box, and reached for her chopsticks to start eating.
"Uncle?"
Nia Mitchell was puzzled as she saw Maxwell Peary still standing by the side. Why wasn’t he coming to eat?
Maxwell Peary smiled and sat next to her. This Rabina Mitchell seed to have cooled down. She had been very upset this morning, acting as if she was going to break things off with him. Alright, in the future, he would control himself and not spank her again.
"After you finish eating, go have a rest in the Waiting Room. Don’t overexert yourself."
Nia Mitchell nodded, a satisfied smile on her face.
"Uncle, today’s sweet and sour spare ribs taste exceptionally good."
Nia Mitchell smiled as she picked up a piece with her chopsticks and tried to feed Maxwell Peary.
A serious look crossed Maxwell Peary’s face. Why did he suddenly realize that their food preferences were not similar at all? He didn’t like sweet things, yet Nia Mitchell did. He loved spicy food, but Nia Mitchell didn’t touch it at all.
"You eat it yourself."
Maxwell Peary decided to refuse. If he kept making concessions, she might really think that he liked it. Once there was a precedence, there would be a second ti. If he ate one piece today, he might have to eat a whole plate tomorrow. Just thinking about a whole plate of sweet and sour spare ribs made Maxwell Peary shudder. He was determined not to eat it.
But...
Nia Mitchell looked at him pitifully, her right hand still in the air with the piece of spare rib. As she watched Maxwell Peary shake his head and turn his face aside, the smile on hers instantly vanished.
"Uncle, why won’t you eat? It’s really delicious."
