Maxwell Peary sat in his black and white study, firmly refusing.
"Then five o’clock. I can’t make it any earlier," Nia Mitchell stated, indicating her absolute limit. Would Maxwell Peary be satisfied? Nonsense, of course he wouldn’t.
"No."
Evelyn Peary had leaned in curiously, eavesdropping on their whispered conversation with amusent. Wow, she had no idea her big brother had this side to him! ’No’ again? Hmph! Evelyn could already picture Maxwell sitting there, face dark as thunder, uttering that ’no.’ Ugh, it must be absolutely terrifying—a heavy, suffocating pressure all around, making it hard to breathe and sending shivers down one’s spine.
Nia Mitchell shot a desperate, imploring look at Evelyn Peary. That’s your brother! Quick, give so advice! What am I supposed to do?
Evelyn Peary shrugged, signaling she was powerless to help. Little sister-in-law, if I get into trouble in the future, you have to rember to save ! I’d love to help you now, but alas, I don’t have the ans.
Nia Mitchell felt like she was being forced into a corner. She bit her lip, clutching her phone helplessly, not knowing what to do.
"Then when do you want to be back?" Nia Mitchell asked tentatively. She needed to know his bottom line so she could try to negotiate.
"Co back right after dinner."
Nia Mitchell put a hand to her forehead. Uncle Peary must still be holding a grudge because I didn’t agree to take him to dinner earlier.
"But I want to hang out with Fiona Sutton for a while longer," Nia Mitchell whined, her voice sweet and coaxing.
Sure enough, Maxwell Peary coughed on the other end of the line, sounding extrely unnatural, before saying, "Be back by two."
Nia Mitchell looked skyward, speechless. He gave the whole day off! What am I supposed to do if I go back at two o’clock?
"But... Uncle, it’ll be so boring for to be ho alone at two. Am I supposed to just sit there twiddling my thumbs?" Nia Mitchell bit her lip. No, no, that would be too awful!
Hearing Nia Mitchell’s words, Maxwell Peary felt a familiar tightening in his lower abdon. Damn it! This Rabina Mitchell wasn’t even here, yet she managed to get a reaction out of him with just a few words. Her soft, sweet voice, deliberately coquettish, still echoed in his ears, rendering him unable to resist. His heart softened just hearing her words. How could he bear to let her be bored at ho all alone? That would be too lonely.
"Alright then, you must be ho before five. I want to see you when I get ho from work," Maxwell Peary conceded, his voice softening.
Nia Mitchell nodded repeatedly, practically dancing with joy. Uncle Peary actually agreed! WAHAHA! I really didn’t expect that! She tried to suppress the excitent in her heart, calmly said goodbye to Maxwell Peary, and then hung up.
The mont she hung up, Nia Mitchell couldn’t hide her emotions anymore. She turned to Evelyn Peary. "Did I actually persuade him?" Nia was still bewildered; she truly couldn’t believe it.
Evelyn Peary gave Nia Mitchell a thumbs-up. "I give you ten thousand likes for that! You’ve got so serious skills! If I ever get into trouble in the future, sister-in-law, you’ve got to cover for ."
The future looked bright! Big brother finally has a weak spot. Who would believe that the renowned Young Master Peary of Capital Town could be persuaded by a twenty-year-old girl? A girl who even dared to glare at him defiantly! Anyone who saw it would be stunned. Had Maxwell Peary changed, or was this Nia Mitchell just incredibly capable?
Back in his Office Room at the MC Group, Maxwell Peary’s face was grim. Without even glancing at the person standing stiffly before him, he forcefully threw the docunts in his hand. This display only served to deepen Evelyn Peary’s bewildernt.
