Night fell swiftly, and Nia Mitchell hurriedly got into a taxi back to Royal Bay Villa.
Surprisingly, Maxwell Peary was at ho, not in his usual white shirt, but already impeccably dressed in a suit.
"Uncle, are you going out?"
Nia Mitchell changed into her evening gown and put on light makeup.
Maxwell Peary looked at her, his throat tightening as he strode over to her.
"Who told you to wear makeup?"
Nia was taken aback. What kind of question was this? She was going to a banquet, already so formally dressed in an evening gown; surely she couldn’t go without makeup?
"Is there a problem?" Were her makeup skills so poor that she was unpresentable?
"From now on, no makeup."
He’d never known that Nia, who looked so simple and unadorned without makeup, could be this stunning with it on. It was one thing for him to appreciate this stunning side of her alone; he wasn’t generous enough to let other n see her this way.
"Okay, okay, I get it. I’m going to be late."
Nia was in a hurry to leave. Maxwell Peary had already arranged for a driver, who was waiting outside.
Maxwell Peary adjusted her shawl. "At the banquet, rember, no drinking alcohol."
He was sowhat reluctant to let her attend such dazzling, hedonistic banquets, but she had already given her word.
"Okay, okay, Uncle, are you done yet?"
Even with her usually good temper, she was starting to get irritated by now.
Maxwell Peary was montarily speechless. Seeing her impatient expression, he felt particularly irked.
Who would believe that the illustrious Young Master Peary was actually being treated with such disdain? Since when was he being fussy?
"Fine, be careful."
Nia finally got into the car under Maxwell Peary’s stream of admonishnts. As the car drove out of Royal Bay Villa, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"Was the CEO always like this before?" she couldn’t help but ask the driver.
The driver, keeping his eyes fixed on the road, hesitated for a mont before answering, "No."

Maxwell Peary, back in Royal Bay Villa, suddenly sneezed.

Maxwell Peary rubbed his nose, puzzled, then grabbed his car keys and got into his own car.
Letting Nia, dolled up so beautifully, out of the ’rabbit hutch’—how could he possibly rest easy? His wife, of course, needed to be watched at all tis. What if soone with a discerning eye, much like himself, recognized her unique qualities and was utterly captivated by her in that evening gown?
The more he dwelled on it, the more Maxwell Peary felt this was a distinct possibility, and he decided to set off in twenty minutes.
