Compared to Benjamin Jones’s bewildered look, Phoebe Walker understood the aning of Maxwell Peary’s words very well.
She couldn’t believe that Young Master Peary actually wanted to get rid of the Jones Family, a family that had existed for almost one hundred years.
But why?
Could it be just because Nia Mitchell claid Benjamin Jones was pestering her?

"Young Master Peary?"
Benjamin Jones took a few steps forward, looking puzzled.
"Young Master Peary, what do you an by this?"
Maxwell Peary sneered. With an heir like that, the Jones Family deserves to be destroyed. I’m rely speeding up their demise. How dare he try to snatch Rabina Mitchell, the pet I’m raising? Quite bold of him.
"Nia Mitchell, co over here."
Ignoring Benjamin Jones, Maxwell Peary finished speaking and walked towards the sofa he had been sitting on earlier.
Nia Mitchell, hearing her na called, shivered and slowly raised her head, hoping to plead for rcy with her eyes.
But Maxwell Peary had already turned his back. He didn’t even glance at her as he sat directly on the sofa.
Under the gazes of thousands of people, Nia Mitchell walked over and stood in front of him.
"What do you want?" Nia Mitchell’s tone was unfriendly. If he dares to reveal our relationship here, I’ll turn around and walk out, leaving him high and dry. It wouldn’t be my fault for embarrassing him; he’s the one taking things too far.
"Sit down. You are not allowed to leave my sight tonight."
Maxwell Peary patted the seat next to him, then looked away from her.
Nia Mitchell wrinkled her small nose. What does he an by that?
Seeing his expression that clearly wouldn’t take ’no’ for an answer, Nia Mitchell scratched her head and decided to obey.
Wearing an evening dress and high heels, she couldn’t act as casually as she did at ho; she could only sit demurely beside him.
"I haven’t done anything wrong. Why are you being so an to ?" Nia Mitchell muttered under her breath, her voice low enough that only Maxwell Peary could hear.
Actually, having Maxwell Peary by my side isn’t too bad. At least no one dares to approach this intimidating CEO.
All the attendees at tonight’s banquet kept a distance of at least five ters from Maxwell Peary.
It was eerily silent; no one uttered a word. Everyone silently watched Nia Mitchell and Maxwell Peary sitting together on the sofa.
"When was I an to you?" Maxwell Peary swirled the wine in his glass, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Look at your expression! Listen to your tone! If that isn’t being an, what is?" Nia bit her lip, feeling a bit awkward sitting there.
Suddenly, Maxwell Peary leaned his upper body towards her, bringing them much closer.
He took a light sniff. Alcohol. She promised she wouldn’t drink, yet she didn’t keep her word.
Reaching for a glass of juice, Maxwell Peary handed it to her.
"Or would you prefer I pull you into my lap right now?"
Nia’s face turned red. Shaless! If he really dared to do that, I... I’d bite him to death!
"You, scoot over!" Nia scooted to the side, determined to maintain a safe distance from Maxwell Peary.
Maxwell Peary didn’t mind and shifted slightly to the side as well. As long as Nia is by my side, it’s fine. It’s better to discuss things when we get ho.
This scene was too bizarre. The attendees at the banquet felt like they were ntally collapsing.
It was an unsettling sight that no one dared to look at directly.
Who is this woman that none of us recognize? How can she make Young Master Peary treat her so differently, even letting her sit beside him? Could this have so special aning?
