Phoebe Walker stood not far away, stomping her feet. What was so special about this Nia Mitchell? Young Master Peary was giving her such special treatnt! It was quite obvious with Benjamin Jones’s situation; Maxwell was clearly siding with Nia. Was it just because Nia was Alan Morgan’s Special Assistant? It seed the relationship between Nia and Alan Morgan was worth pondering.
"Phoebe, take this bottle of red wine."
Liam Walker ca over with a wooden box. When Phoebe Walker looked down at it, she was quite surprised.
"This wine is the one you collected the day you left the business world. You said you would only bring it out when I got married."
This wine held great significance. Why was her father bringing it out today?
"If this wine can help us achieve our wishes, then it’s worth it."
Phoebe Walker’s expression changed, and she very solemnly took the wooden box containing the wine.
"Don’t worry, I won’t let this bottle of wine go to waste."
Saying this, she then held the wooden box and walked towards Maxwell Peary.
"CEO Peary, my father treasured this bottle of red wine, saved from the day he left the business world. It’s my honor that you could attend my birthday party today, so he specially brought it out for you to taste."
Phoebe Walker said with a smile, then swiftly opened the wine and poured a glass for Maxwell Peary.
"Pour her a glass as well."
After taking a sip, Maxwell instructed Phoebe Walker.
Phoebe Walker’s face imdiately changed. Young Master Peary’s tone... it was as if he thought she were a re waitress!
She lowered her head and clenched her fists. Nevertheless, she walked over to Nia Mitchell’s side and poured her a glass.
Nia Mitchell twitched her small nose and sniffed. It doesn’t seem to have any special aroma.
She took a small sip, smacking her lips a couple of tis.
"How is it?"
Maxwell suddenly turned to look at her.
Nia Mitchell frowned and took two more sips.
"I think it tastes pretty similar to the previous one. There’s nothing special about it."
Phoebe Walker’s eyes widened, and she snorted. Hmph! Such ignorance! She can’t even tell the difference or understand the basics of wine tasting. How could soone like her ever integrate into upper-class society? She was now beginning to seriously doubt whether Nia Mitchell truly had any connection to Alan Morgan. Considering Special Assistant Alan Morgan’s deanor and class, he didn’t seem like the type to have such a "poor relative."
"How can it be ’nothing special’? Nia Mitchell, you clearly don’t know how to appreciate wine, do you?" Phoebe Walker suddenly spoke up. She was rely stating a fact, not deliberately targeting Nia. Even with Maxwell Peary present, she would say it. Because she wasn’t wrong.
"Indeed, I don’t know how to appreciate wine, so such a fine wine is truly wasted on . However, you were the one who poured it for ; I didn’t ask for it."
Nia Mitchell continued to sip the red wine. True, I didn’t ask for it. But the CEO himself ordered you to pour it for ; would you dare refuse him?
This was the first ti Nia Mitchell felt her own words could be so cutting; she even felt a little embarrassed.
"CEO Peary, may I ask? What exactly is your relationship with this Nia Mitchell? I’ve never seen you treat any woman so... specially." Phoebe Walker decided she didn’t want to keep guessing wildly; it was better to ask directly. Perhaps if she asked, Maxwell Peary would actually answer.
Maxwell Peary looked up at Phoebe Walker, then took another sip of the red wine.
"My opinion is the sa as Nia Mitchell’s. This red wine indeed isn’t anything special. Phoebe Walker, you wouldn’t be trying to fool with so inferior wine, would you?"
After saying this, Maxwell Peary put down his wine glass.
