After five minutes of heated discussion, everyone suggested asking Alan Morgan’s Special Assistant.
However, Alan Morgan was not in the Office Room, and his phone was unreachable.
"RING, RING, RING..."
Suddenly, the landline on Nia Mitchell’s desk rang, and the Secretary Departnt imdiately quieted down.
Under everyone’s scrutiny, Nia Mitchell awkwardly picked up the handset and answered.
"Hello?"
Her timid voice trembled slightly. Maxwell Peary sat in the Office Room, a smirk playing on his lips as he glanced at the two boxes in front of him.
"Co in for a mont."
Nia Mitchell silently rolled her eyes. Does he want coffee?
Just as Nia Mitchell was about to ask, a figure passed by the entrance of the Secretary Departnt.
Yes, it was Phoebe Walker.
Nia Mitchell frowned almost imperceptibly.
"CEO Peary, soone’s looking for you. I’ll make two cups." Nia Mitchell spoke hurriedly, then hung up the phone and turned to go make coffee.
I can’t believe Phoebe Walker is still so eager to chase after the CEO. HUMPH. Everyone knows what she’s after. She just wants to be Mrs. Peary. TSK. It’s too late for that.
"Shirley Grant didn’t co?"
The door to the Secretary Departnt opened. Phoebe Walker had just arrogantly strode past the entrance to the Secretary Departnt, clearly wanting to bask in everyone’s attention.
However, a glance around told her that Shirley Grant wasn’t there.
Well, this is quite the news. Didn’t she do all those despicable things just to get into MC?
Nia Mitchell turned to look at Phoebe Walker, who was standing in the doorway, not saying a word.
"It seems she can’t throw her weight around in the Secretary Departnt anymore. After waiting through thick and thin for to leave, thinking she could finally rule the roost here... HA HA. How amusing."
Although Phoebe Walker had left the Secretary Departnt, seeing that Shirley Grant hadn’t gotten her way put her in a good mood.
She had always been pampered, the apple of everyone’s eye. Yet, unfortunately, there were always a few people who opposed her.
Coincidentally, the two people in MC who dared to openly oppose her both had significant connections with Alan Morgan.
But now, even Alan Morgan could barely fend for himself.
"You’re no longer part of the Secretary Departnt. Are you popping in for a chat during working hours?"
Whenever Nia Mitchell recalled Phoebe Walker’s past cold remarks, she felt extrely annoyed. It was a rare chance to throw Phoebe’s own words back at her.
Phoebe Walker raised an eyebrow, surprised that this little secretary, who had only climbed up by clinging to Alan Morgan, now dared to talk back to her.
"Nia Mitchell? My birthday was last Saturday. How co I didn’t receive a gift from you?"
Phoebe Walker leaned against the doorfra, arms folded across her chest, a provocative smirk on her face.
Nia Mitchell frowned. She indeed had not prepared a gift.
"I wasn’t the only one who didn’t give you a gift. CEO Peary didn’t send one either, did he? How about this, Miss Walker, if you’re looking for gifts, you should ask CEO Peary. After all, if CEO Peary were to give a gift, it would certainly be significant." Nia Mitchell emulated Maxwell Peary’s expressionless manner, clearly articulating her thoughts word by word. Her expression carried a certain aloofness, and also a touch of disdain.
Alas, her imitation wasn’t very convincing.
"HUMPH! The fact that CEO Peary attended my banquet is an honor in itself. It clearly showed how much CEO Peary values . You should know, my birthday banquet was the first public event CEO Peary attended."
Being so valued, and so publicly, made Phoebe Walker the talk of the town. In everyone’s eyes, she was already the future Mrs. Peary.
