Fiona Sutton shouted loudly, standing up abruptly. The entire restaurant fell quiet once more.
"Fiona Sutton."
Charles Northwood was very displeased with her rudeness that day. He stood up and smiled apologetically at the other custors in the restaurant.
"She’s drunk."
"Fiona, sit down."
Charles Northwood left his seat and sat beside her.
"Can we still be friends? If not, you should leave while Nia Mitchell hasn’t co back."
Charles Northwood had never spoken with such a serious tone before, leaving Fiona Sutton in a daze for quite so ti.
By the ti she snapped back to reality, Charles Northwood had already returned to his seat.
"Fine, bodyguard, if you want to leave, I’ll leave."
Fiona’s temper flared. She grabbed her bag and left the restaurant.
He had been like this in the USA, and to her surprise, even after returning to Capital Town, he was still the sa.
"Fiona?"
Nia Mitchell had just returned with so yogurt drinks. From afar, she saw Fiona leaving the restaurant and imdiately called out to her.
But Fiona seed oblivious, not even slowing her pace as she left directly.
"Fiona!"
Nia took a few quick steps, but due to the distance between them, she couldn’t catch up.
Reaching the restaurant entrance, Nia pushed open the Grand Gate to see Charles Northwood sitting there.
"Did you and Fiona have a fight?"
Nia was sowhat uncertain. Charles Northwood had never raised his voice, let alone argued with anyone. She understood Fiona’s temperant, though; Fiona was likely the one causing trouble again.
"No, the food is getting cold. Co over quickly."
Nia walked to the table, puzzled, and sat down. She still didn’t understand.
"Why did Fiona leave?"
Nia wondered. Hadn’t Fiona said that she had finished her business earlier?
"She rembered she had sothing important to do, so she left."
"Oh, I see, that’s just like her, always rushing around everywhere."
Nia nodded and picked up her chopsticks.
"Did you finish your business in the USA? Are you planning to go back to University A to teach?"
"Yes, this ti I’ll be in charge of your papers."
Charles Northwood raised his eyebrows, waiting to see Nia’s reaction after he said that.
Just as expected, Nia was dumbfounded.
"Ah! The difference between people is just too big."
Nia pouted her lips and took a big bite of the Boiled at.
"Do you want to use your connections?"
Charles Northwood smiled as he picked up a piece of Sweet and Sour Pork with his chopsticks and gave it to her to neutralize the spiciness in her mouth. Nia laughed and imdiately popped it into her mouth.
"Professor, you’re not supposed to say such things."
The two of them bantered affectionately with one another, unaware that soone in the shadows had a cara and was capturing all of this.
The rry ringtone of a cell phone interrupted their dinner. Nia quickly took out her phone and her face turned dark when she saw that it was Maxwell Peary who was calling.
After quickly ending the call, Nia raised her head and saw that Charles Northwood was looking at her with an inquiring gaze.
"That... it was a spam call. It’s probably either an insurance salesman or a property agent."
Nia explained sowhat awkwardly and then she picked up a piece of Boiled at with her chopsticks and put it in her mouth.
Seeing her reaction, even a blind person could tell that she was lying.
"Have so water."
Watching her eat in silence, Charles Northwood felt rather resigned and handed her a glass of water.
Nia gave him an awkward smile. Just as she was about to change the subject, her phone rang again.
Sure enough, the caller was none other than the famous Young Master Peary of Capital Town.
