"Aren’t you going to answer that?" Charles Northwood said, smiling.
"Is it another prank call?"
Northwood arched a brow, a playful grin on his face. However, there was no humor in the depths of his eyes.

"With these prank calls so frequent now, I... I better go answer it."
Nia Mitchell, with a bashful smile, stood up and walked out of the busy Dining Hall.
"Hello? Why do you always call ? I’m having dinner with Charles Northwood. Didn’t I tell you I’d get ho early?"
Nia didn’t pause after answering the call, her words flowing out continuously like a babbling brook.
At the Royal Bay Villa, a certain man was seated in the study. A small smile curled at the corners of his mouth while two large stacks of folders lay on the table. He leaned against the back of the plush chair, gently massaging his temples with his free hand.
"Nia Mitchell."
Maxwell Peary interrupted the chatter in his ear, stretching his neck, which made soft CLICKING sounds, with a tired sigh.
"I haven’t had dinner yet." Maxwell closed his eyes wearily.
"Huh?"
Nia didn’t quite know how to react. Did he really call just to tell her he hadn’t eaten?
"I haven’t had dinner yet," Maxwell repeated.
Nia coughed awkwardly. Why did he sound so aggrieved?
"Well, you should eat then."
With so many chefs at ho, how could they possibly not have a al for him?
"I can’t eat without you."
Maxwell sighed. He was used to her chattering during als. Now that she wasn’t there, he just didn’t feel like eating.
"Huh?" Nia didn’t know how to respond and scratched her head helplessly.
"But how can you go without eating?" Nia voiced her concern, the noise from the street making her uneasy.
"I’ll wait for you to co back, and then we can eat together."
Maxwell Peary was starting to act like a spoiled child, even resorting to this kind of trick.
Wasn’t he just blatantly forcing Nia to go ho early?
"Uncle Peary."
Nia had obviously thought of this too and was rather displeased, but she knew that when the CEO said sothing, he ant it.
"You used to eat just fine before we knew each other, didn’t you?" she pouted, finding him cunning. Clearly, he was doing this on purpose.
"Things were different back then." Maxwell opened his eyes. Their dark depths sparkled, adding an alluring charm to his domineering, handso face.
"How are things different?"
Nia didn’t believe his nonsense. This clearly had nothing to do with ti. Who could develop such an unchangeable habit so quickly?
"Hmm?" His voice rose slightly in pitch, with a nasal quality.
Every ti Nia heard this tone, her heart fluttered, and her whole body practically lted.
"Nia Mitchell, let give you an example. Before I t you, I thought making love was an optional thing. But after I t you..." Maxwell suddenly stopped mid-sentence, his deep, husky voice lingering by her ear.
Nia’s face burned. Uncle Peary, he... he... he was being a hooligan!
"Shut up!" Nia stomped her foot in embarrassnt, her cheeks flushed crimson.
He chuckled. Maxwell couldn’t see her adorable expression, but even imagining it, he found it utterly endearing.
"After I t you, I wish you were under every day, so I could, whenever I wanted..."
