At five in the evening, work finished at MC Group.
Nia Mitchell continued to busy herself with the matters at hand. Once everyone in the Office Room had left, she knocked and stepped into the CEO’s Office.
"Uncle, I’m done."
Nia headed to the couch and patiently awaited him.
"I’ll be right with you."
At this ti, Maxwell Peary was in a remote eting. On the other side of the computer, Annie Davidson was seated on a hospital bed, and Owen Lewis was packing up.
"We’ll arrive in Capital Town tomorrow night."
Annie reached for a piece of dragon fruit, eating it while half-listening to the eting. Then, she caught an unusual voice coming from the CEO’s side.
"You madman, Maxwell, how co I never knew you had a niece?"
Well, well, the boss has finally developed a bit of a human touch, even arranging for his niece to be placed in his company. When I get back, I absolutely have to tease him about this.
"There’s a lot you don’t know. And... she is not my niece."
How could such a cute Rabina Mitchell be my niece? Of course, she’s reserved to be my wife—one who eats well and sleeps well.
Annie stared in astonishnt at Maxwell Peary on the computer screen. What on earth was that expression he just made? Was he deeply provoked by her and Owen’s honeymoon? Had Maxwell really gone crazy? Goodness, how pitiful. Crazy and still a single dog!
"If she’s not your niece, then she’s not your niece, Maxwell," Annie retorted, clearly unconvinced. The girl already called him ’Uncle’; how could she not be his niece? Could she be your wife?
It had to be said, Annie’s wild imagination was terrifying... terrifyingly on point.
"When you get back, I’ll have so matters for you to handle. Talk to Owen first. I don’t want you applying for maternity leave right after you return from your honeymoon."
Maxwell Peary raised an eyebrow and quickly hung up after giving Annie a look. Then he packed his things and walked over to Rabina Mitchell.
This ti, Nia Mitchell had been particularly obedient, not disturbing him and instead playing on her phone.
anwhile, back in the hospital room, Owen Lewis shot up like a startled cat and rushed to Annie’s side.
"Boss, you can’t be so cruel! I want to be a dad ASAP!"
Annie, stunned, slapped Owen Lewis on the head.
"Owen, who promised to have your baby?"
Annie was dissatisfied. Shouldn’t they discuss this first?
"Annie, if you don’t have my baby, who will you have it with? Also, stop calling Little Cloud!" Owen Lewis protested. It was one thing for her to tease him by calling him Little Cloud before they were married, but even after...
"Little Cloud, Little Cloud, Little Cloud, that’s what I’ll call you!" Annie declared. "I called you that before we were married, I’m used to it, and I have no intention of changing it."
Annie tossed the laptop aside and glanced at the ssy clothes on the bed.
"Quickly clean up. It’s such a ss. You don’t want to miss the flight."
Once finished speaking, she headed to the restroom.
「Back in the CEO’s Office at MC Group.」
Maxwell Peary had initially thought Rabina Mitchell was finally behaving. His heart filled with warmth, and he was about to go over to give her a big hug and a deep kiss.
But to his surprise, as he approached her, he realized she was engrossed in a lively chat on Twitter.
Chatting with Fiona Sutton or the like was one thing; he might feel a little jealous at most. But with Charles Northwood? What on earth was this?!
Maxwell instantly snatched her phone and quickly typed a few words in response.
"Ah! Uncle, what are you doing? What did you write?"
Nia Mitchell bristled and instantly stood up, trying to snatch her phone back. However, she wasn’t tall enough. The CEO simply held his arm up, and she could only flail her arms and jump anxiously, trying to grab it.
