Sophia Moore took off her sunglasses and scanned all the secretaries staring at her.
"What, does no one have any work to do?"
Sophia Moore wore an arrogant expression. How could the futures of these junior secretaries ever compare to hers? She might be down and out now, but once she inherited the Walker Family fortune, she wouldn’t waste her ti working in such a godforsaken place for others.
"My, the Head Secretary is in bright and early today."
The discontent among them was palpable. Though they might not necessarily have disliked Sophia as an individual, they were quite annoyed that she had been parachuted in as Head Secretary to manage them.
"Who hasn’t been late a few tis? Besides, am I late?"
She pointed at her watch; it clearly wasn’t even nine o’clock yet.
She was only a little later than usual, and Young Master Peary had simply arrived a bit earlier today.
Everyone was montarily speechless. Alright, she indeed wasn’t late.
"Since I wasn’t late, what right do you all have to criticize ?"
Moreover, she was the Head Secretary, effectively their superior.
"We were just giving you a little reminder, that’s all. We didn’t an anything else by it."
Nia Mitchell kept her head down, unwilling to get involved in this verbal spat.
But, it seed, soone just wouldn’t leave her out of it.
"Nia Mitchell, do you think I was late?"
Sophia suddenly walked up to Nia Mitchell, her crimson lips curling into a smirk.
Nia paused, then looked up with a frown.
"Haven’t you already answered that yourself?"
What was there for her to judge? What was Sophia thinking, putting her on the spot like this?
"In the entire MC Group, only you seem to be sensible enough."
Sophia sneered and, after speaking, sat down in her seat.
"I’ll be taking leave for the next few days. A new Special Assistant will be arriving then, so if you need anything, go to the new Special Assistant."
The ntion of the new Special Assistant made her grind her teeth in frustration. That position should have been hers! HMPH! To think that Alan Morgan didn’t even lift a finger to fight for it for her. But it didn’t matter. She would definitely beco MC’s Special Assistant in the future. Even if not the Special Assistant, she would still reach a position others could only dream of.
"Secretary Moore, what are you planning to do? Why take so many days off?" one of the junior secretaries asked, her voice cloyingly sweet and her tone sycophantic.
Those being flattered often find such sugarcoated remarks exceptionally pleasing.
"I have so family matters to attend to. They’ll be resolved soon, but I might not return to the company afterward."
If she inherited the entire Walker Family fortune, she could squander it extravagantly and still not run out in a lifeti.
A smile spread across her face as she thought about her wonderful future.
"However, if I really can’t co back, I’ll definitely treat everyone to a al. Of course, I’ll also invite Young Master Peary."
At the ntion of Young Master Peary, Sophia’s smile widened even more.
If the dia then reported that she had successfully invited Young Master Peary out for a al, wouldn’t that bring her imnse prestige? HMPH! Young Master Peary appearing at Phoebe Walker’s birthday party back then must have been due to sothing Liam Walker did behind the scenes. He only ever cared about that good-for-nothing daughter of his, always neglecting . He didn’t even care about my basic welfare... But it didn’t matter anymore. Everything belonging to the Walker Family was hers now anyway!
"Young Master Peary never attends any banquets. If you invite him, he definitely won’t attend."
Nia Mitchell suddenly spoke up, her eyes filled with earnest conviction.
