Upon hearing the CEO’s description, Nia Mitchell couldn’t help but chuckle.
Indeed, in Evelyn Peary’s heart, only Maxwell Peary could save her. If her marriage was really being determined like that, she’d probably charge straight into MC and confront Maxwell Peary.
"She’ll probably target you tonight."
Nia snickered. The CEO is probably terrible at handling these kinds of situations.
"It’s ."
Maxwell suddenly lowered his head to look at the beaming Rabina Mitchell, a warmth spreading through his heart.
"Then rember to save ."
Nia Mitchell: !!!!!!!!
Damn! The CEO went out for a while today, and everything changed when he ca back. What happened to the promised domineering gloominess? Pick it back up quickly!
"Will you save ?"
Seeing her wide, clear eyes staring blankly as she sat there completely zoned out, Maxwell suddenly felt displeased.
Nia Mitchell was overco with embarrassnt; her brain simply couldn’t process what was happening.
"What do you need to save you from?"
She recalled Maxwell’s usual behavior: whenever he was displeased, he’d pull a long face and stalk off.
He needs ** to save *him*? Please, let’s not joke around.
Hearing Nia Mitchell’s muttering, Maxwell grew even more irritated.
Whether he needed her help or not was irrelevant to her; he just wanted a clear ’yes’.
"Speak!"
Maxwell raised his voice, his brow tightly furrowed.
Nia flinched, instinctively wanting to put so distance between them.
As if seeing through her thoughts, Maxwell reached out, pulled her over, and settled her onto his lap.
"Speak!"
The distance between them shrank. Her face grew hot, flushed from the warmth of his breath.
"Save..."
Nia looked completely at a loss, unsure how to react.
Hearing the answer he wanted, Maxwell’s expression instantly shifted again.
"Good. I’ll be waiting for you to save tonight."
Nia Mitchell: ...
CEO, are you really okay?
After leaving the CEO Office, Nia Mitchell resud her work. As for that report from the Finance Office, she wasn’t worried about it in the slightest.
Sure enough, around three in the afternoon, Sophia Moore panicked when she learned that Nia Mitchell still hadn’t started organizing the docunts.
"You few, get together and make sure these are organized before CEO Peary leaves for the day."
Sophia Moore was so angry she stomped her foot and imdiately assigned six people to the task.
And Nia Mitchell was not among those six people.
"Nia Mitchell, were you doing this on purpose?!"
Sophia Moore stood angrily before Nia Mitchell. If I hadn’t co to ask, would she have made wait until after work to tell ? How infuriating! To think she actually joked about sothing so important.
"Why would I do it on purpose? I simply couldn’t manage the workload."
Nia Mitchell shot Sophia Moore an irritated look. So she was trying to make things difficult for , was she? We’ll see who’s making things difficult for whom now.
"You!"
Sophia Moore was choked with anger and viciously kicked Nia Mitchell’s desk.
"You just wait!"
With that, Sophia Moore spun around, stalked out of the Secretary Departnt office, and headed straight for the CEO Office.
Diana Hill watched Sophia Moore walk into the CEO Office, then turned to Nia Mitchell, her expression anxious. "Nia Mitchell, it’s all over! Couldn’t you have just endured it a little?"
What’s so ’over’ about it? What did I do wrong? Work needs to be done systematically. That amount of work was impossible for to complete on my own anyway. I’d like to see what Sophia Moore can possibly say to Maxwell Peary now.
