Owen Lewis’s face instantly turned as dark as the bottom of a burned pot as he stood gloomily at the Grand Gate Entrance of the Secretary Departnt.
Everyone in the Secretary Departnt was either openly or covertly watching him.
"Lewis is so handso, but why does he look upset!"
"No idea. Hopefully, he won’t take his anger out on us."
"What’s he doing standing at the entrance?"
"I bet Maxwell must have scolded him."
In the Secretary Departnt’s group chat, there was an imdiate uproar, with everyone voicing their confusion.
"Maybe, but why would he co here?"
Everyone was very puzzled. As far as they could recall, Owen Lewis was only considered a friend or partner of Maxwell. Besides, he wasn’t part of MC Group, so whenever he ca over, he was looking for Maxwell, not visiting their Secretary Departnt. But what was going on today?
At this mont, a storm raged in Owen Lewis’s heart. Annie Davidson’s behavior... is she actually serious?
So, standing outside the Secretary Departnt, he called Annie Davidson again.
He dialed several numbers in succession, but no one answered.
His expression dark, he directly called one of his subordinates.
"Find out where Annie is."
"Huh?"
On the other end of the line, the man was still sowhat dazed. Isn’t Annie with the boss? Aren’t they married? Why would he need an investigation to find his own wife?
"Imdiately!"
How could he not guess what others were thinking? Owen Lewis’s already gloomy face turned even darker, as if ink could drip from it.
After hanging up, Lewis pushed open the Grand Gate of the Secretary Departnt and glanced at everyone there.
"I’m the new Special Assistant, Owen Lewis. Who’s in charge here?"
Lewis frowned and looked at everyone sitting there. With so many people, there should be a Head Secretary or sothing.
"We don’t have a person in charge right now."
Sophia Moore stood up, smiling, and spoke before anyone else could. If those gossipers ntioned that she, Sophia Moore, was the Head Secretary but had just been dismissed this afternoon, wouldn’t she be terribly embarrassed? So, Sophia Moore didn’t give anyone else a chance to speak; she struck first.
Owen Lewis frowned. He hadn’t expected so many people without a Head Secretary. How on earth was Maxwell Peary managing the Company? Or had things fallen into chaos after Alan Morgan left?
"Then you can be the Head Secretary," Owen Lewis said, arbitrarily appointing soone.
Suddenly, the entire Secretary Departnt fell silent. It was no exaggeration to say you could hear a pin drop.
It wasn’t for any other reason than the secretary Owen Lewis pointed to was indeed Sophia Moore.
Damn! New Special Assistant Lewis, don’t you know Sophia Moore was just dismissed this afternoon? You actually... actually... Oh my god!
Sophia Moore, her face beaming with joy and fearing soone might say sothing to ruin her chance at becoming Head Secretary, imdiately spoke up.
"Thank you, Special Assistant Lewis. I will definitely work hard to be worthy of the Head Secretary position. Thank you so much for your trust."
Haha, who would have thought her luck, Sophia Moore’s luck, would change so quickly! It’s simply... Ah! She still hasn’t co to her senses.
Seeing Sophia Moore like this, Lewis frowned unconsciously. Is she so excited she’s gone mad? Is it really that serious?
Poor, clueless Owen Lewis. For Sophia Moore, it truly was that important.
