"Special Assistant Lewis."
Suddenly, a young secretary stood up and looked at Owen Lewis. She had been with the company for quite so ti, always toiling away in obscurity.
"What’s wrong?"
"Is it your turn to speak now?"
Sophia Moore threw a sharp glance at her, her face radiating anger. Her eyes flashed a warning: if this secretary dared to say anything she shouldn’t, Sophia would make her regret it.
The young secretary trembled. She had wanted to blurt out that Sophia Moore had just been dismissed, but now she didn’t dare say a word.
Diana Hill, who had been sitting at her desk all this ti, clenched her fists, hesitating whether to expose her.
If she spoke up, Sophia Moore might lose her chance to be Head Secretary...
Diana Hill shot up from her seat. "Special Assistant Lewis, Sophia Moore used to be the Head Secretary, but she was just dismissed from office today!" The words tumbled out in a single breath. Before Sophia could even get a word out from her throat to stop her, Diana had already said everything.
A sudden hush fell over the Secretary Departnt; one could clearly hear soone gasp sharply.
Sophia Moore clenched her fists, her eyes filled with anger and hatred.
You wretched Diana Hill! It’s bad enough you’re always sticking to Nia Mitchell, but to ruin my opportunity at a ti like this! If she could, Sophia would have stord over and given her a sound thrashing.
Owen Lewis froze, his eardrums buzzing loudly.
If she had sothing to say, fine, but why did she have to be so loud?
"I don’t care!"
He’d already given his word; could he possibly take it back now?
"Just make sure you do your job well. Don’t disappoint my expectations."
Sophia’s head drooped in disappointnt. In her mind, since Maxwell Peary had dismissed her, there was no way Owen Lewis would let her be Head Secretary again. She was so reluctant to accept this.
However, she never expected that Owen Lewis wouldn’t care about Maxwell Peary’s decision at all and would still make her the Head Secretary.
"Thank you, Special Assistant Lewis."
A wide smile spread across Sophia’s face as she happily returned to her seat.
Hmph! Those who mocked her just wait and see. Sophia Moore is back! Nia Mitchell, who do you think you are? Look, even the heavens favor ! This proves I’m doing the right thing!
Nia Mitchell, who was in the Special Assistant Office, let out a loud sneeze and uncomfortably rubbed her itchy nose.
Am I catching a cold? The thought of possibly being forced to get a shot if she caught a cold made goosebumps break out all over her skin. No, no, that won’t happen. My constitution has always been exceptionally strong!
After Owen Lewis left the Secretary Departnt, he returned to his own office.
As he gently pushed open the door, the sight that greeted him was Nia Mitchell, already seated at the new desk and chair.
She wasn’t strikingly glamorous or exquisitely beautiful. Her first impression was one of delicate charm; her eyes were exceptionally clear and luminous.
"Um..."
Nia Mitchell stared blankly at the man who walked in from outside, a little unsure how to react.
Who is this man? A guest? No, that’s not right. If he were a guest, why would he co to the Special Assistant’s office? Then who on earth could he be?
"May I ask whom you are looking for?" Nia Mitchell’s voice was soft and sweet like cotton candy, gentle and sugary to the ear.
"Who am I looking for?"
Owen Lewis snapped back to his senses, only then rembering that Nia Mitchell didn’t know him at all.
"Ahem, well... I..."
Should I call her sister-in-law? Damn it! Logically, he should probably address this young woman before him as ’sister-in-law’ and then give a grand self-introduction. But... Oh my god, why didn’t anyone tell him his sister-in-law was... so young?
