"Why didn’t you go back?" Charles Northwood asked as he opened the door to let Tara Jason in.
"I was worried about you," Tara Jason smiled. Seeing how disheveled he looked, she knew he would insist on changing his clothes imdiately.
"You don’t need to worry about . It seems we can’t go out for dinner now. I’ll just make you sothing simple."
It turned out Charles Northwood and Tara Jason had been planning to go out for dinner together.
"Okay, I’ll take a shower." Charles Northwood, who had always been a stickler for cleanliness, couldn’t bear the thought of just changing his clothes. Besides, the stinging pain in his palms urged him to quickly clean the dirt and gravel from his wounds.
Watching Charles Northwood leave, Tara Jason’s smile faded, and she trudged listlessly towards the kitchen.
Soon, two bowls of noodles were ready. Charles Northwood erged in his bathrobe.
"Slls great." Charles Northwood was never stingy with his praise.
"Hurry and eat. The noodles will get soggy soon," Tara Jason smiled, handing him a pair of chopsticks.
Charles Northwood nodded. As he reached for the chopsticks, the wounds on his palms were exposed to Tara.
"You’re hurt!?" Tara Jason froze, her eyes fixed on the small abrasions on his hands. She imdiately stood up to fetch the First Aid Kit.
"It was Fiona Sutton, wasn’t it?" Tara Jason asked as she carefully dabbed iodine on his wounds.
"Don’t overthink it." Charles Northwood clearly didn’t want to elaborate. His evasive words made Tara Jason pause in her actions.
"So, you never planned on telling her we’re dating, did you?" After disinfecting his wounds, Tara Jason slowly put away the First Aid Kit.
Charles Northwood stiffened at her words and fell silent for a long ti.
"Don’t overthink it," he finally said. "The ti just isn’t right."
Tara Jason had grown tired of these excuses. She stood up abruptly. "I just rembered I haven’t prepared my materials for tomorrow’s class. I should go."
Without giving Charles Northwood a chance to respond, she uttered these words, grabbed her bag, and ran out.
It all happened in an instant. By the ti Charles Northwood reacted, Tara Jason was already gone.
He sighed, his appetite vanishing at the sight of the bowl of noodles on the table. Ignoring the pain from his wounds, he slipped on his slippers and trudged to the Main Bedroom to sleep.

After Nia Mitchell’s call ended, tears began to PITTER-PATTER down her cheeks.
"What’s wrong?" Maxwell Peary frowned, reaching out to wipe her tears. But the more he wiped, the more tears fell; it was an endless stream.
"Stop crying. You look awful."
At a loss, Maxwell Peary simply tossed a box of tissues onto her lap. "Go on, cry all you want. When we get back, everyone at the Villa will assu I’ve bullied you."
Listening to Maxwell Peary’s slightly resentful words, Nia Mitchell turned to look at him. "Fiona Sutton knows I’m married."
Maxwell Peary raised an eyebrow. "Wasn’t that to be expected?"
"That’s good. It saves you from agonizing day after day over how to tell her," Maxwell Peary said nonchalantly.
Damn it, so Rabina Mitchell was crying over *this*?
"What are you talking about?" Nia Mitchell exclaid in frustration. "Now she’s ignoring , and Charles Northwood is ignoring too! I have no friends left!" Ignoring her seatbelt, she slapped Maxwell Peary on the arm.
"If they ignore you, let them." Maxwell Peary still didn’t seem to care. After saying this, he turned to her, his expression suddenly serious. "You still have ."
