Thus, at Maxwell Peary’s strong insistence, she did not go to work in the afternoon.
"Um... Uncle, let’s go back to the Hills Villa." Since she wasn’t working, she couldn’t just sit in the car doing nothing.
Maxwell Peary silently chuckled at her sleepy, just-woken-up appearance.
"Alright, let’s go."

Once Nia Mitchell got out of the car, she ran quickly inside without even grabbing an umbrella.
"Oh my, Miss Mitchell!" The butler, Frederick Goldsmith, seeing her hurried appearance, instantly beca worried. "Didn’t you bring an umbrella? That’s strange; the young master always keeps umbrellas prepared in his car. And if you didn’t have an umbrella, you could have called . I would have co out to fetch you."
Frederick began to nag. She had so many other options; why did she insist on running back by herself? Not only would she get wet, but what if she slipped and hurt herself?
"It’s okay, it was only a few steps."
Right after she spoke, the CEO himself also ca in, his hair slightly damp.
Nia’s face instantly lit up with a smile when she saw tiny droplets of water on his eyebrows.
"You didn’t use an umbrella either, Uncle," Nia Mitchell was quick to point out. "Uncle, you’re quite old. What would happen if you got sick from the rain?"
When it ca to jabbing soone, Nia was quite an expert.
As expected, as soon as he heard what Nia had said, Maxwell Peary’s face changed imdiately.
Quite old? Was Rabina Mitchell saying he was old? This was unacceptable, absolutely unacceptable.
So, Maxwell Peary put down his briefcase. "Nia Mitchell, you..."
"AH!" Only when Nia saw the change in the CEO’s expression did she realize what she had said, and she squealed.
Forgetting to change her shoes, Nia bolted upstairs.
"Slow down!" Maxwell felt completely stressed out as he watched her quickly vanish, leaving a trail of footprints behind. His expression darkened even further.
God knows how much of a cleanliness freak Maxwell was. But ever since Nia had co along, she kept pushing his boundaries.
"Nia Mitchell!" Maxwell changed his own shoes, grabbed his briefcase, and went upstairs.
「Second floor main bedroom—」
Nia kicked off her shoes, tossing them right into the hallway. Barefoot, she then took off her slightly damp coat.
Maxwell walked in to see this scene.
"You..." The CEO glared at Rabina Mitchell’s bare feet, his brow furrowed. With the floor being so cold, how could she just... "Put on so shoes."
Nia pouted and curled her toes. "But my shoes are still downstairs." There were no slippers upstairs. If she were to wear shoes, wouldn’t she have to run downstairs barefoot?
Maxwell walked over in annoyance, taking off his own coat. "You!"
He was clearly at his wit’s end with her. Seeing her like this, he scooped her up and tossed her onto the large bed.
"Uncle!" Nia imdiately rolled over on the bed, attempting to get up from the other side, but she wasn’t as fast as the CEO.
Maxwell pinned her down before she could get away, his eyes filled with an unusual emotion.
"Uncle?" After a long silence, Nia swallowed nervously and timidly called out. What was Maxwell up to? Erm... it seed... her situation was a bit precarious.
"Uncle?" Nia felt like crying but had no tears.
"You said I’m ’quite old’?" Maxwell, seemingly turned dark, his eyes sparking with fire.
