Mother Mo’s low, hoarse voice sounded beside her. Shirley Grant turned her head to look at her, tears welling in her eyes, barely believing what she was hearing.
"Go on."
Seeing Shirley Grant like this, whatever resentnt Mother Mo might have harbored instantly vanished. Indeed, only a woman could truly understand the hardship of raising a child alone.
"Okay."
Shirley Grant nodded, then turned to change her clothes.
As she entered the ward, her steps suddenly grew heavy, her face a picture of sorrow.
Tears were on the verge of gushing from her eyes.
"Alan Morgan."
She sat down, her voice choked. She wanted to reach out and grasp his hand, yet was afraid of hurting him.
"Can you hear ?"
Shirley Grant wasn’t sure if Alan Morgan could hear her. She could only sit there, covering her face in anguish.
"Why did you go looking for ?"
Why?
If he hadn’t gone looking for her, none of this would have happened.
"You have to live, you know? Gerry Peary is still waiting for you. You haven’t even t Gerry Peary yet."
Her voice was laden with so much pain.
How could anyone understand this kind of pain without experiencing it firsthand?

Nia Mitchell was fast asleep on the large bed when the butler knocked on the door and ca in.
Seeing Nia Mitchell still on the large bed made him a bit anxious. After a mont’s hesitation, he glanced at the maid standing by the door and gestured for her to wake Nia Mitchell.
"Young Madam?"
Um...
Nia Mitchell stirred, rubbing her eyes. She remained bleary-eyed for a minute before finally opening them to look at the maid standing to one side.
"Hmm?"
Nia Mitchell sat up; her shoulder, exposed from under the quilt, was covered in bruises.
The maid blushed instantly at the sight. She hadn’t realized Young Master Peary could be so... rough!
"What is it?" Nia Mitchell asked, sowhat dazed, having lost all track of ti.
The maid, blushing, looked at Nia Mitchell sitting there and awkwardly averted her gaze. No wonder the butler hadn’t co in himself, she thought.
"Young Madam, it’s already eight-forty. Didn’t you and Young Master Peary plan to go to the Hospital at nine?" the maid reminded her with a gentle smile.
Hearing this, Nia Mitchell’s face finally turned red.
"Where’s Uncle?"
Everyone in the Villa knew about Nia Mitchell’s peculiar habit of calling Young Master Peary ’Uncle.’ They all just considered it an endearing quirk of their relationship.
"Young Master Peary is still in the study; he probably got busy and forgot."
Nia Mitchell nodded, then casually put on a bathrobe and entered the bathroom.
After freshening up, she dressed in a cute pink outfit that made her look vibrant and youthful.
She knocked on the door of Maxwell Peary’s study and then promptly walked inside.
"Uncle, Uncle, Uncle, Uncle!"
Nia Mitchell ran forward in her slippers, making a PITTER-PATTER sound, until she reached Maxwell Peary’s side.
Maxwell Peary hung up the phone with a dark expression, then looked gravely at Nia Mitchell.
"What’s the matter?"
He put his mobile phone aside, then reached out to brush a strand of Nia Mitchell’s hair from her face.
"Didn’t we agree to go to the Hospital at nine?" Nia Mitchell looked at him with a beaming smile. He was clearly the one who brought it up, yet he forgot about it this morning!
Maxwell Peary was taken aback. Only then did he rember the appointnt. He smiled and looked at her.
"Mrs. Peary, are you that eager to go to the Hospital today?"
His voice was ostensibly serious, but Nia Mitchell could clearly detect a teasing tone within it.
"What? How can you say that?"
It was his own suggestion, and now he was trying to pin it on her! How infuriating!
"I am not! Fine, if that’s how it is, then we just won’t go. I’ll go back to sleep."
